Dr. Karen Jamieson-Darr, PhD

I wish I had paid attention to prior reviews before scheduling a session with her. Jamie Darr is hands-down the WORST therapist I have ever encountered. She is rude, unprofessional, and abusive. I've spent many years in individual counseling and over 10 years in marriage counseling, and I've never encountered a therapist who verbally attacks her clients the way she does. She's very insecure, and doesn't like to have her authority challenged in the slightest; if you don't simply accept everything she says as the absolute truth, she shames and belittles you - very controlling and manipulative tactics. She offers no actual help or tools for conflict resolution; instead, she seems to prefer to simply tell you what you are doing wrong and rigidly insist you must "Stop it". Seriously - these are her actual words. Dr. Phil has more empathy than this woman. I agree with other reviewers that all she cares about is money - she charges much more than any other therapist with whom I've ever… worked. Unfortunately, she came highly recommended by my attorney during my divorce, and I went to see her to help with some co-parenting issues. It became clear during the session that she sees all divorcing parents as the enemy, and she treats you this way. She doesn't listen, often cuts you off and assumes she knows what you are going to say, sits in judgment, criticizes, and barks orders at you (when things become emotional). During a session, she even got up while I was in the middle of sentence to pour herself a cup of coffee, and excused herself to send a text message to someone! That one hour session was emotionally traumatic and only did more harm to our co-parenting relationship. I never trusted my attorney again after this. She should not have a license.

Dr. Darr's ethics came into questions. She's is only in this for the money. Dr. Darr works WITH Griffiths Law.
