Dr. Karen J Sundby, MD

Dr. Sundby is an outstanding surgeon. She performed a Mohs surgery on my nose and she really did a wonderful job. She expertly excised a carcinoma from my nose and masterfully closed and stitched the wound. You can hardly tells I had this procedure and my nose looks great! I highly, highly recommend her to anyone needing a Mohs' procedure. Dr. Sundby is busy, but absolutely worth the wait!

I called the office to see if they excepted my insurance and they informed me that they do not. So I asked if they take cash or payment plans, they said yes about taking cash but due to the medical assistance I receive (Medicaid insurance) they will not accept my cash. Definitely feels like a slap in the face and that my money is not good enough for them especially with something as serious as this. Thanks so much for making me lose hope with my situation in this time of need. I am a single mother of two little girls and it's very hard to except that I have to look forward to people looking at them in this way!

Waiting times are ridiculously long; no respect for patient time. If it takes 2 hours of time waiting then the doctor's schedule is too full. Please consider the patient's time as well as staff.

I HAVE BEEN A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND I MUST SAY THAT MY EXPERIENCE IN DR SUNDBY JOHNSON'S OFFICE WAS EXCELLENT. FROM THE MINUTE, YOU WALK IN THE OFFICE, THE FRONT DESK IS KIND AND FRIENDLY. ONCE YOU ARE TAKEN BACK BY ONE OF THE NURSES, YOUR EXPERIENCE IS GREAT. THEY PUT YOU AT EASE AND WALK YOU THROUGH THE WHOLE PROCEDURE. WHEN DR JOHNSON WALKS IN, SHE REASSURES YOU AND EXPLAINS WHAT THE PROCEDURE WILL ENTAIL. FROM THEN ON , YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN EXCELLENT HANDS. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROCEDURES IN THE OFFICE AND I WILL CONTINUE TO BE HER PATIENT AND FEEL SO VERY LUCKY TO HAVE A DR AND STAFF THAT ARE SO GOOD AND CARING.

I was extremely happy with my visit with Dr. Sundby Johnson. Office and staff were great. Everything was explained thoroughly and patiently regarding my procedures. The Dr. and staff are the BEST!

I am writing to help other patient's that need to have Mohs surgery. It is scary to hear you have cancer and then the fact that it's on your face makes it more scary. I would like to share with people that Dr. Johnson is a very talented surgeon and her staff is dynamite! Her office is very good at explaining details! They sent me a detailed brochure before my appt that goes over what to expect for the day of procedure and the recovery period. It was explained that Mohs surgery removes the cancerous skin while leaving as much healthy tissue as possible. The nurses explained that Dr. Johnson maps out the skin that is removed and checks the layer under the microscope to see if there is more cancer. They explained the tumor tells us where to go. There is no guessing and sometimes what seems small on the surface can be like an iceberg under the skin. I was informed about the repair of my wound after the cancer was removed and how Dr. Johnson is very concerned with cosmetic results . … The recovery period was explained very well, including to expect impressive bruising and swelling which will go away with healing. I was told lingering numbness is normal and expected. There is a lot of information to take in but this office spelled out every detail. The staff was very patient with all my questions and I was very impressed with my cosmetic results! Thank you for taking such good care of scared people, like me!

Well.. the Dr, and the staff are lovely. Office very nice. I was numbed over 100 times and was very unprepared for the little patch up surgery at the end and didn't understand how I was being fixed up. They gave me two valium that were supposed to make it for me all day. I was totally incapacitated for two weeks due to bruising, black and blue eyes and face, and unable to breathe, eat, sleep, or talk. It is now 90 days from my appointment and I am still numb around my face and nose where the surgery was performed. I think it is healing ok and I have followed all directions, but I definitely was NOT prepared for how long the process was going to be, both the day of the procedure and the 90 days of healing which are still happening. It is a major deal-- so do your homework. I feel like they got all of it and I am grateful. It has NOT been easy.

Went in for Mohs surgery on my upper inner ear. Took them 3 attempts to remove the bad skin cells. Which was ok understanding that they wanted to make it right...I thought! After the procedure was complete they said they can graph the ear back, but it should not be that bad. Well it is and it looks like something went terribly wrong with my ear. Completely disfigured! So I asked to see what it would take to make it right since they did a bad job. On my last visit to have it checked out they said it would be anywhere from 600 to 800 to fix. I said ok and would get back to them. I did get back and said run through my insurance and see what it would be...it went up to 1600 out of my pocket to fix!! What kind of scam artist are these people! So I get to keep this ugly ear for the rest of my life and they could care less! Terrible results at this facility! Stay away!

This Doctor is absolutely the best, she is so warm and kind, totally putting me at ease when I was feeling very nervous and uptight. She did a excellent job removing my cancerous mole w/ minimal scarring. Her staff is pretty outstanding too! I'd highly recommend her for her competence, caring and kind personality. They get 5 stars from me.
