Dr. Karen Marie Kelly-Hemler, MD

Dr. Kelly's office does nothing to make you believe that they went into Medicine to truly be a part of a patient's preventative and wellness journey. It takes over 5 months to make a physical exam appointment. If you express concern over waiting nearly half a year for an annual exam meant to be proactive in nature and attempt to ask about being phoned about a cancellation or unforeseen opening, the receptionist will tell you "we don't do that." A bit later in the month, I made an appointment to be seen for what fellow Emergency Responders and an RN described as a heart arrhythmia or a new-onset murmur. I had been having some significant heart rate spikes and shortness of breath, and as a fire fighter, I take this seriously and asked to see Dr. Kelly, who has been my doctor for over 2 years; she has always been very professional and resourceful when I see her once a year. I was pleasantly surprised to make an appointment the next day, This is where I truly made a mistake. I thought my… appointment was at 11:30 and it was 11:15. I arrived at 11:22 (7 minutes late) and was ignored in the office until 11:28. Eventually, a receptionist said, " Dr. Kelly already poked her head out and said she had to cancel you. You are late." Next appointment with Dr. Kelly? It is over a week away. I work in healthcare. I understand the difficulties of Primary Care, but you have to still prioritize caring for those that trust you with their health and also train your office staff in basic customer service and problem solving. They lost my respect and trust, and my husband and I will be moving to a different practice.

Fake attitude changes when she walks out the door. She leaves u dry if any negative feelings about care is expressed. Makes all issues patient fault even when confronted of misdiagnosis.

I was told she could take over my care for my thyroid medications and had blood work done. After results came back and it came time to adjust my dosage she bailed and said go to an endocrinologist. Guess she is all talk about being able to treat thyroid disorders.

Dr. Karen Kelly is compassionate and portrays that she cares about my well being. She is professional and informs me of the facts and the result if I do not follow her directions to regain my health. She is direct and to the point as all Physicians should be. I like Dr. Kelly and hope she remains at New Health Physicians or at least within an organization that my insurance covers. I would not want to change Physicians. Dr. Kelly has been my Primary Care Physician for twenty years. All Physicians should be as direct, professional, compassionate and caring as Dr. Karen Kelly.
