Dr. Karen H Lashley, PhD

I saw Dr. Lashley for years and had the same experience where she used MY therapy sessions to talk about her own issues. It never helped with my problems and would always make us feel guilty if we didn't make an appointment at the end of our session. She should not be practicing. She should be spending time in a psychologists office getting her own help before she can help anyone else.

My husband and I saw Dr Lashley after the birth of our first child. My in-laws had decided that they didn’t understand why he married me and were blaming me for their toxic gossiping and attention seeking. An 18 year old in Psych 101 would have been able to recognize that I was the “Identified Patient.” However Dr Lashley was very quick to paint me as the problem and enhanced a wound that took a competent therapist one session to recognize. She even told my husband to leave me in a “private” session. I was never heard and was painted as the hysterical, postpartum mother who needed only to surrender to the will of my in-laws. If you see her, be prepared for her to talk about herself, tell you to leave a session halfway through because there is another patient who storms in, forget your appointments, cave to the strongest personality in the room and treat suggested reading as therapy.
