Dr. Karen Shizuko Mikuni, MD

Mikuni refuse to prescribe my blood preasure medication and anxiety medicine I believe I had a cardiac infraction in her office after she refuse to answer questions about how many antibiotics I have to take for something I dont have she claimed I had cellulitis had blood test and it was clear I dont have so for 6 months she did same thing all the other dr did and she ordered an ultrasound for my leg its been done 8 times. Why not order a CT scan because the delay of treatment for my illness has cut my life span I would be lucky if I live 2 more years I'm 37 years old.

Dr Mikuni is always very friendly and thorough with her patients. Unfortunately, her staff is terrible. The front desk staff is rude and will go as far as hang up on you. I will only go to her now as a last resort because it upsets me so much to deal with her staff.

About as good as you can get in Santa Maria. A little bit of a wait to see her. She will take her time to evaluate. Very caring.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mikuni's for many years. I called her office and tried to get through to the Doc that was on-call for her...he never called back...when I told her office staff this they were very rude and tried to make me out as being the one at fault. When I finally got in to see Dr. Mikuni she diagnosed me with bronchitis and put me on zpac. After taking the full course of meds I was still sick as a dog. I tried calling her office several times and was told by her staff that she does not return patients calls. I made an appointment and went back in to see her. I now have pneumonia. She told me in the appointment that she does not have time to return patients phone calls. She also will not prescribe any meds over the phone. In my opinion Dr. Mikuni does not return patients phone calls because she is overbooked and too busy making money. Her staff has a very bad attitude which obviously is coming from her. She would be a great Doctor if you never get really sick and need… someone to care for you.

She is a very nice and caring doctor but with her hours and days she works it is hard to get an appointment with her. Seems like they have too many patients on their hands to schedule any one that has something come up at the last minute. Was told by the staff to just go to the urgent care instead.

Dr. Mikuni is a very caring doctor who has a great bedside manner. Her staff is amazing and is always very helpful and pleasant to talk to. I always feel like I'm in good hands when I'm with Dr. Mikuni.
