Dr. Kari Lyn Smart, MD

Graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University. She then completed her residency at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in 1999. The first nine years of her practice were spent caring for patients both in the clinic and as a hospitalist at Doernbecher. In 2008 she was excited to join the Children’s Clinic as a practice share partner with Dr. Cannon, a friend and colleague from residency. As a pediatrician, Dr. Smart enjoys caring for children and teens through all stages of their lives, and also working with parents through both their struggles and their joys. She also has a special interest in the care of newborns. Dr. Smart is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Smart is married and has two daughters and a son. She is a native Oregonian and is now looking forward to raising her family here. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and when she steals a chance, she enjoys reading, scrap booking, and …traveling.
