I LOVE Dr. Youman. She is kind, caring, understanding, yet stern. She has been the most amazing psychiatrist throughout fighting an eating disorder, anxiety, and depression. She listens and tries to understand where I’m coming from before diagnosing/prescribing. She has been vital to my wellbeing and I’m so thankful for her! I will say she is incredibly busy and doesn’t necessarily follow up, but she has cancellations fairly often if you make it a priority to see her.

I waited for months to be seen by her because she has a large client base. I thought getting an appointment would be easier once I became an established patient. She wanted to see me in 2 weeks and her staff gave me an appointment in 6 weeks....the soonest available. This was consistent throughout the year I saw her. She always ran about 40 minutes late yet expected me to be there twenty minutes early. No respect for my time. She is simply too busy and is always rushed and frazzled. The last straw was when she used her nurse to get a confidential message to me. The nurse left a detailed message with private information about me on my house voicemail which everybody has access to. I had told her to only use my cell phone number and to leave only a message to return the call. She did not care about the violation of my HIPA rights and did nothing about it. Never felt like she cared about me in the first place. I was just another face.
