Dr. Karima Mansour Shmila, MD

Dr. Karima Shmila is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who earned her medical degree from the University of Tripoli Faculty of Medicine. With 36 years of experience in women's healthcare, she has developed extensive expertise in managing both routine and complex obstetric and gynecologic conditions. Her comprehensive training allows her to provide care throughout all stages of a woman's reproductive life.

Dr. Shmila practices at both OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center and Carle Foundation Hospital, with locations in Urbana and Danville, Illinois. She specializes in caring for women with high-risk pregnancies and addressing pregnancy-related concerns such as abdominal pain and Braxton Hicks contractions. Her clinical skills include performing nonstress tests to monitor fetal well-being and conducting Rh antibodies screening to ensure safe pregnancies. She also provides emergency care for urgent obstetric and gynecologic needs.
