Dr. Karl Fredrick Hempel, MD

I am very satisfied with Dr. Hempel and his staff. I would recommend them.

I have been going to Dr. Hempel for about 25 years. He has been a wonderful doctor over these years. I can't say enough good things about him. He is friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, has a great bedside manner and he actually listens to you, which is rare these days. His staff has changed recently, so I'm not too familiar with any of them yet. They used to be awesome. I'm not too sure about the new ones, they seemed too formal, for lack of a better word, and weren't very friendly. Dr. Hempel seems to make up for that when he comes in the room. I always feel at ease with him. That's important when you are a patient. I believe he truly cares about me. I hope he never retires!

I've seen Dr. H probably for as many years as he has practiced, give or take a few. My opinion: Very caring and personable! At times, as with any office, there will be problems with wait time and scheduling; yet the office staff is pleasant with trying to accommodate.

I have been seeing Dr Hemple for about 18 years. He has two PAs. I can't always see the Dr. the same day but whenever I needed to see someone TODAY I've been able to get in for things like sore throat, earache etc. For my chronic problems my appointments are scheduled in advance. Dr Hempel has also cared for two of my brothers and both of them liked him a lot. In one instance when one of my brothers was seriously ill, Dr Hemple called me at home at about 8:00 in the evening and talked with me for 45 minutes. Waiting time is a bit of a problem because they always try to work people if they need to be seen today. You can't have a short wait and the security of being able to get in on and urgent basis. I'll take the wait.
