Dr. Karl Laskowski, MD

I had a single visit with Dr Laskowski in the early summer of 2013. I have total respect for those who have chosen to be doctors so it has taken me a long time to write this review. However, I have since been to doctors who have shown compassion and understanding of the trial and tribulations of older patients and the blatant contrast warranted I write this review. My internist had retired after a 25 + year relationship with me. She was understanding, gave you all the time you needed and LISTENED. When she left I chose a physician in the same internal medicine practice. It was Dr. Laskowski , thinking it would be easier to stay because all my records were there. I checked his education and he had very good credentials. Not only with a MD but an MBA. He practiced 2 days a week and the other days he did administrative and research at the Brigham. The visit was a disaster. He had zero bedside manner, could not ask a question relative to my age ( 60 and over), was awkward and in… general a terrible communicator. After a few minutes I felt compelled to tell him he had no idea of the how to relate to older people and the challenges they face. I humbly suggest he make the administrative part of his employment a FULL-time position. I too have credentials of sorts. I served on a hospital board for 15 years and there were several reviews of doctors regarding hiring and dissatisfaction. I do not write this lightly but I stingily believe Dr. Laskowsky is ill suited to one on one patient care.
