I was talking to her about my suicidal ideation and I asked her how I should deal with these thoughts. Her response was “how are you going to get to the bridge ?” With a shrug. I never mentioned anything about a bridge and this was very insensitive considering she knows I have a physical disability and can’t drive. I also told her that I felt like a burden to my family and I felt like my family would be better off if I left and went to live somewhere else. She said to me “ doesn’t your mother get a disability check to help take care of you ? “ And I said “ yes “ her response was “ well if you weren’t there she wouldn’t be getting that check “. So in her own words the only thing I’m good for is a disability check. In the beginning of our sessions it seemed she was determined to help me but as time went on she threw in the towel.
