Dr. Katharine Deiss, MD

She is a terrible Dr. I was with her for a few years and my health was not good. I knew something was wrong and I kept asking her what was going on and she kept saying it was my Vitamin D and why did I stop taking it. Very unprofessional and always unfriendly. Always late to the appointment and never had anything good to say.

Wish I could give zero stars to Dr.Deiss. I was seen by her two times. Both times she gave me an off vibe. This last time I went she walked in like she was stressed out and was huffing and puffing. I am a person who comes in here and there but usually the same diagnosis. She made a joke and said I was a “yoda” for this diagnosis and that I seem to get it a lot and she kind of chuckled. There was nothing funny. I kept it professional and said “well certain people are more prevalent to getting this correct?” She said yes. Then if I didn’t know what questions to ask I would not have left there with the information I needed. I asked her what were some preventative measures. She told me “use the medicine” I said what medicine. She said the “gooey one” I responded so I have to take the medicine forever? She said yes. I still don’t know what medicine she is talking about. I had to ask her about side effects. She said none. Very rarely is it that a medicine has absolutely zero side effects.… Then afterwards she said do you need anything else from me? I said no. Then we just kind of stood there staring at each other very awkwardly. I don’t understand why she just kept staring at me. Made me very uncomfortable. This will be my last visit.

I Have been with Dr.Deiss for around 15 yrs She is Very Professional and explains everything that I need explained Best Doctor I ever Had!!!!

I was having some concern with being perimenopausal, she straight up looked me in the eyes and said "you're too young". I was in my 30s, it's rare, but not unheard of. I don't know how this woman even has a job.

I’ve never left a doctors office feeling like this in my entire life. Dr. Perry is my primary, and she is absolutely wonderful in every way. I have had upper back pain for so long and have meaning to go back and get it looked at, but life gets hectic. The last few weeks have been debilitating. I have a pretty high pain threshold, and yesterday morning my back locked up, I couldn’t move. It was excruciating. I went to immediate care. Prescription NSAIDs for severe inflammation, Did nothing. Went to ER Later that night bc I physically couldn’t take the pain. That’s how you know it’s bad, bc I hate hospitals. Was told possible slipped discs, muscle tear. Told to start PT and go to PCP for MRI referral. Well dr Perry wasn’t in the office so I decided to go with her. I left hyperventilating. To make it short, was completely dismissed. Basically told me my vitals showed her I was lying about my pain. Refused mri referral. Made a comment about how I couldn’t afford one, and do I want to… really spend 3k for nothing to come up. I’m sobbing telling her I know my body and something is severely wrong. I’ve had muscle spasms, yes maybe I had that as well, but I know myself and this isn’t the only issue. She looked me in the eye and straight up said the dr at RGH never told me to get mri. I was so insulted that she basically just called me a liar. I have tried OTC nsaid, prescription nsaid, lidocaine patches, heat/ice, muscle relaxers, chiropractics. When I asked for something for the pain she sneered and said “I thought they didn’t work” I was like... so give me a higher dose.. you say I have a spasm yet you’re refusing muscle relaxers?? I got accused of basically being a junkie looking for narcotics when I’ve never once taken them in my life. Dr Perry knows I refuse to even try them. When I made the comment about a higher dose for muscle relaxers she said a very rude “ok” and walks out. That’s it. No idea if she was coming back, so I waited for 15 min sobbing. Finally go out and the nurse was out there and I broke down saying this woman should not be a doctor. She is not a nice woman. Complete opposite. She then came out and proceeded to tell me my script just went through. She was so hostile, seemed annoyed constantly, no compassion, very sad angry pathetic woman. I called my husband in the car because I couldn’t breathe. I can not wait to go talk to dr Perry next week. She is everything a REAL DOCTOR SHOULD BE!!!!! take a lesson dr deiss. Don’t dismiss your patients pain or symptoms, don’t talk down to them, don’t try to humiliate them. Get off your high horse bc u don’t belong up there.

The past 2 visits to Dr. Deiss were disappointing to say the least. I had some health concerns and wanted them checked out. My last visit with her, she couldn't get me out of the office fast enough. Didn't bother to investigate any of my claims, just wrote them off as a possible virus. She treated me as though I was a big waste of her time. At the end of the appointment, she just handed me paperwork and left the room. No "Good-bye, have a nice day" or closure of any kind. Given the brevity of the appointment I wasn't sure if she was coming back or if it was over. I definitely will be looking for a new Dr.

Excellent doctor, I would highly recommend anyone to consider Dr. Deiss to be their choice for a personal physician.

This was my first time seeing Dr. Deiss. She walked in with a dour expression, sat down, looked at the computer screen and asked questions without bothering to look at me. She was rude, reticent, and made me feel like I was bothering her. I felt like I had to work to extract information about my diagnosis from her. Some people are healers, others should stay in the lab. She belongs in the latter camp.

Today, my first experience included taking my handicapped sister to see Dr. Perry. After checking in my sister walked away with the pen she was using and put it in her purse. The woman behind the counter (who turned out to be Dr. Deiss) rudely demanded that she take the pen out of her purse and return it. Upon going into the exam room nurses and Dr. Perry were embarrassed and apologetic for her behavior. Dr. Deiss is completely unprofessional. If it wasn't that Dr. Perry was holding my sisters medications from being renewed unless she saw her I would have left immediately. REALLY DR. DEISS WAS WORRIED ABOUT MISSING PENS? I Could have taken way more valuables while waiting in the exam room..

I first booked my appointment for a new patient visit, the soonest I could get in was 2 months from the day I scheduled. The secretary took my info via phone. I took time off the day of my appointment, only to be told my appointment was cancelled! They connected my info to another profile with information that wasn't mine! Had to reschedule. And that was the beginning. Most recent "incident", I was complaining of pains in my side. I would come in and Doctor Deiss would blame it on anxiousness and/or gas. I saw the PA after some nausea and she pinpointed it down to my gallbladder. I followed up with Deiss and she said the PA was wrong and handed me an Rx for Prozac and for Xanax and told me I shouldn't read the side effects because I will imagine them happening to me. I asked for an ultrasound referrel. Large gallstone!!!!!!! I had surgery a month later, changed doctors, stopped taking the prozac and I am happy as ever with my doctor switch. Deiss is good for nothing.
