Prior to procedure I was only offered an appointment with a nurse practitioner. I only met Dr. Black five minutes before the procedure. I was unaware a biopsy would be done. Her nurse practitioner presented the procedure as they would just look at the esophagus and do a dilation if necessary. Follow up appointment wasn’t until 2 1/2 months after the procedure to discuss test results.

I am writing to you following my office visit today to express my sense of dismay regarding your comments. I truely appreciate your 'professionalism' in informing me about the health of my kidneys and your opinion that any consumption of alcohol could result in continued loss of function of my kidneys. Thanks Please remember that your patient is 75. He's outlived both his father and mother and sister and all other relatives by decades and decades. He's raised two children because their mother effective abandoned them. Served in India in a remote village while was in the Peace Corps, served also as a Navy Seal in Cambodia searching for air force personal during the Viet Nam war. Experinced men dying in his arms during that adventure. Spend time in Ethopia and Qatar. I have a brain full of memories ... most of which are ... painful! I don't offer these comments as an excuse for my daily behavior ... I only hope that you might be more tolerant and understanding when you… express your medical opinions! Regards, John Gray

Great experience with Dr. Black, very helpful and knowledgeable. Wanting to find (and treat) correctly, any problem, not "just agreeing" with, other doctors; "maybe" findings.
