Dr. Katherine Jo Cheeves, MD

Dr. Cheeves takes time for each patient, constantly looks for better meds for my condition, is always available in an few days if needed. Also found me a great therapist. A food doc all around.

Dr Cheeves responds when i call (rarely) if i say i urgently need advice for managing my bipolar disorder. She has been great at finding the right prescriptions for me.

Would never recommend her. She way over medicated my daughter with anti depressants and abilify. As my daughters suicidal thoughts got worse she increased the dosage of abilify, known side effect increased suicidal thoughts, discontinue use recommended by drug manufacturer. She chastised me, the mother, for questioning the amount of drugs she was giving my daughter. Took my daughter to the hospital where they were shocked at the amount of meds she was on and took her off all medication. My daughter is much better without her, and never felt comfortable with her but in this town we were very limited for this type of Doctor.

I have found Dr. Cheeves to be very knowledgeable. I feel that she is concerned about my well being, and she makes good suggestions that are realistic for me to follow. She has always been polite and on time, and her staff is courteous. She is not only managing the symptoms of my current problem, she is also working at the root of the problem. She is approachable, she listens, and she is non-threatening. I would recommend her to anyone, but especially to those people who need a softer, more subtle approach.

All this lady cares about money. She's also very, very rude. I sure wish there were other options in this area.

I believe in Dr. Cheeves. She is the best doctor I have had since being diagnosed with my specific condition. The staff is professional yet courteous. I would recommend her to anyone in need of psychiatric care.

Dr. Cheeves tried to wean me off of Effexor XR twice. She tried to wean me off of it in just 2 weeks both times. This rapid withdrawal made me feel suicidal and I attempted suicide at both of these times. I haven't felt the same since these experiences. I have tried to commit suicide several times since these experiences. I have ever tried to commit suicide before these rapid withdrawals and I am 45 years old.
