Dr. Katherine June Coyner, MD

Dr. Coyner should be everyone's "go-to" Dr. for any orthopedic needs. Dr. Coyner is an exceptional at what she does and genuinely cares about her patients. Dr. Coyner goes above and beyond for her patients.

Dr Coyner is a very skilled orthopedic surgeon. She uses the latest evidence based medical techniques. She is kind and takes the time to listen to her patients. I would recommend her to anyone who requires a surgeon for knee injuries. She gave me my life back.

I saw Dr. Coyner for hip issues (labral tear and impingement). She listened to me and respected my desire to get back to running, spinning and working out. The surgery went really well. I had little to no pain in the days after and the recovery was exactly as she had described. While she can be direct and short on conversation, she was there to give me her expert opinion - not to have coffee and chat. I appreciated her clarity and I never left the office confused or unsure of the outcome/next steps of the appointment. Overall, great experience.

She spent 2 minutes with me after the residents asked me all the questions, sent me for an x-ray, then PT for months, saw me again for 2 minutes ordered MRI, during the months being "treated" my appointments were canceled 4 times, the final breaking point was when I went to another rescheduled appt, she wasn't there. I then asked for my medical records and she told d me they would not release them unless I had a follow-up appt. I then called UCONN medical records got my records then went to another Dr, he told me I had not been given the proper care so I'm back to zero starting over after 1 year of poor care.

I had a very bad tear in my right meniscus, and after trying several weeks of home PT, I went to see Dr. Coyner. She ordered a MRI, which showed a bucket handle tear. She recommended surgery, and I was very concerned that my knee would not ever be 100%. She explained everything to me, and laid out the entire recovery period. And I am so pleased with the outcome. The timeline was almost exactly as she laid out (actually a little better), and within 4 months I was back to running several miles a week, and after 6 months I am back to running 25-30 miles a week and my knee is back 100%! I could not be happier with Dr. Coyner and her entire staff. From my initial visit through all of my follow up visits, I always felt like they truly cared about me and my full recovery.

Don’t even think of it. Terrible across the board.

Injured my shoulder racing bmx and she gave me great treatment and made me feel confident through the whole process of recovering and paid attention to detail and was a friendly person as well.

Agree with prior review. This doctor was very unprofessional in my opinion. I was in excruciating shoulder pain and in tears when I arrived. She spent all of 5 minutes with me and did a few arm movements which caused my pain to double. Took no xray or ultrasounds. Handed me a prescription and told me to go to PT. Didn't say where, guess I had to guess where to go.. Not once did she crack A smile and rushed me in and out. Will not go back to her nor recommend her. Was very upsetting.

She's awful. And I am sincerely baffled as to why all her reviews say otherwise. She is so cold and curt. Also, she recommended I get physical therapy for my hip dysplasia-- That I am now getting surgery on, because it is a severe case that will turn into arthitis and/or an eventual hip replacement. A poor consultation and sour demeanor.
