After discovering nodules on my thyroid I was referred by my general internist to Dr. Heiden. An ultrasound revealed one nodule near the windpipe that the radiologist and my internist said would be very difficult to biopsy. When I met Dr. Heiden she immediately put me at ease. Not only are her credentials outstanding - graduate of Columbia Medical School; fellowshipped at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic - but her bedside manner is what every patient looks for in a doctor. She is warm and compassionate and takes time with her patients. She did a needle aspiration biopsy on me and was able to easily do what the radiologist said would be very difficult. The procedure, though daunting at first, was virtually painless, and Dr. Heiden put me very much at ease during the procedure. Her staff is also wonderful. I was promptly notified of the pathology report (Praise God!, it was benign) by her assistant. I cannot recommend Dr. Heiden highly enough. I would give five stars if I could.

Starting with Dr. Heiden's clinical assistant Jasmine, she went above and beyond to ensure that I had a successful surgery. Working long distance with me, she ensured that everything was set for me to come in and meet with the Dr, set me up to have necessary testing and then have surgery the following day. Dr. Heiden met with me several times before surgery to ensure that I had all my questions answered and always with a smile on her face. She is a very talented surgeon and did great job with a very difficult surgery. I had none of the nightmare complications from my parathyroid surgery that are a real possibilty with this type of surgery. She makes sure all your needs are met before and after surgery along with her resident physicians helping her. If I have to have another endo surgery I will definately go back to her. I can not praise her and her staff enough.

Dr. Heiden performed all of my biopsies and ultrasounds prior to my thyroidectomy. She provided sound medical information and advice. She came highly recommended and I was very pleased with my surgery. My scar is almost imperceptible. Thanks Dr. Heiden!!
