Zero is the number for her. She will allow you to die if you don’t advocate for yourself and insist on further diagnostic procedure.

Dr. Matthews is kind, compassionate, intelligent, and knowledgeable -- all things you should value in a doctor. What she doesn't know or specialize in, she has no problem making a referral to a specialist. Her staff, front of the house and the assistants, are all very kind (if busy) people. There is often a wait, but that's because she accepts same day sick appointments and sometimes during cold season and other outbreaks their office can get busy. For well-visits, making an appointment early in the day is key to get in and out efficiently. I love Dr. Matthews and wish she treated adults!

She is such a caring doctor, wish I had a great doctor like her for myself. My grandchildren love going to see her, she makes them feel at ease. You call for appointment and they try to squeeze you in, I highly recommend her

Misdiagnosis of a positive PPD from associate only to have child re-tested and results re-read by Dr. M. The lungs were clear, thank goodness. Although flu vaccines are supposed to be administered free and w/o co-pay pursuant to insurance contract, she insisted on charging the co-pay office visit. Lastly, when I wanted to view my child's records she refused. It was not until I researched my rights under NYS Dept of Health Patients Bill of Rights and flat out told them of my rights that they told me I can view them. They reluctantly allowed me access to them but not without someone watching every move and asking after a few minutes when I will be done because she has other things to do!!!! There were referrals, results and some other information missing from the file. Luckily, I remembered who these doctors were and EVERY SINGLE one of them promptly emailed me an Authorization For Release form, accepted a filled out, scanned copy back and will all email and snail me his entire… files FREE OF CHARGE. Patients Bill of Rights says a doctor can charge as much as $.75 per page. Dr. Matthews was going to charge me the max. The file contains over 125 pages!!!! This is how she treats her patients after 18 years??? I am so happy I am leaving this practice after 18 years. With all this said, dealing with Dr. Matthews face to face was generally a pleasant experience but that only get you so far.
