Dr. Katherine Elizabeth Schwarz, MD

Dr. Katherine Elizabeth Schwarz did a terrible job as anesthesiologist at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque N.M. I was scheduled for total knee replacement which was completed on September 3rd, 2024. I was scheduled for epidural/spinal block. Dr. Schwarz chose to do general anesthesia without my permission because of her incompetence at inserting needle for spinal. Horrible bedside manner, uncaring!! Beware of her!! ZERO RATING!!

Dr. Schwarz has been my GYN for over 10 years. I have followed her from place to place because I like her so well. She’s smart, compassionate, and so trustworthy, I entrusted our daughter to her when she needed care. I couldn’t recommend her more highly. She answers all of my questions and is a partner in my care. She listens to my concerns and is responsive, always responds promptly to messages.

I had 3 visits with Dr Schwarz, and at each visit she treated me in a very condescending manner. At the last visit she was downright mean. Medically my issue was simple and straight forward. However, she offered no explanation of her findings. When I asked questions, she did answer them and spent sufficient time to do so. I never questioned her skill or competency - all my questions were clinical or physiological, yet she became defensive and aggressive. She is not willing to educate or to engage the patient as a partner in health. She was very insensitive and uncaring toward me. I don't need warm and fuzzy, but neither do I need to be admonished like a child or treated as a person of little worth. I have worked with and seen a lot of doctors (I'm a nurse) - there are nice ones and mean ones and in-between ones. Dr Schwarz was a mean one with me. I cannot recommend her, especially if you are worried or scared or have too much on your shoulders.
