I do not recommend this doctor. From the outset, she seemed to hold preconceived notions about me, leaving me feeling judged, dismissed, and unseen. When I explained that I was seeking VA benefits and needed to be evaluated for certain conditions, she responded by saying, “Isn’t this what you wanted? To be depressed to qualify for benefits?" This remark was deeply inappropriate and profoundly unprofessional, particularly given the vulnerability of veterans seeking mental health care. Throughout the appointment, she was disengaged, rarely made eye contact, and showed little empathy or curiosity about my lived experience. As a veteran actively struggling with mental health challenges, I found this encounter harmful rather than supportive. Compassion, respect, and attentiveness are essential in this field, and unfortunately, they were absent here. For these reasons, I cannot recommend her to other veterans or patients seeking mental health care.
