Kathleen Lafevers, FNP

For Kathleen LaFevers, healthcare is personal. Her grandmother's time as a patient in an intensive care unit (ICU) inspired her to work in ICUs and operating rooms for a decade, and now she's bringing that expertise to Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) Internal Medicine in Demorest to care for adults not just in emergencies, but in their everyday lives.Kathleen earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from Georgia Southern University and completed her family nurse practitioner training earlier this year. During her clinical rotations, she trained in several NGPG practices, including the practice she's now joining.Originally from Flowery Branch, Kathleen spent the first decade of her career as a registered nurse with experience in multiple ICUs and, most recently, as an operating room nurse in Atlanta. She also worked in a COVID-19 ICU in 2020, which she said was one of the most difficult, humbling, and meaningful times of her life.Outside of work, Kathleen …enjoys spending time on Lake Lanier with her husband, their four-year-old daughter, and their dog. She also enjoys antiquing, restoring old furniture, photography, and watching college football - especially when The Ohio State Buckeyes are playing.
