Dr. Kathleen Marie Lemaitre, MD

I saw Dr. Lemaitre for my pregnancy and had a feeling I should have switched to another OB while pregnant. Once she heard I wasn't going to breastfeed, I felt she turned on me. She would seem annoyed with my questions and like she couldn't be bothered. She was on vacation after my due date (not a big deal, I was actually fine with someone else delivering). Dr. Lemaitre assured me my records would be sent to St. Elizabeth's and they would take over my care and had me schedule an ultra sound. When I got to the ultrasound they had no idea who I was or why I was there. A week overdue at this point, I burst into tears and said no one was monitoring me at this point. The head of OB came and immediately got my records sent over and took over my care. I was horrified that Dr. LeMaitre did not have this all set up. The final straw was after giving birth. I had severe PPD (history of anxiety and being on meds should have been a red flag). When I told her my concern of possibly having PPD… (depressed, not bonding with baby, etc.) she said she couldn't help me with that, and "if it got bad go to the ER". Wow. I'm sorry but someone who deals with post partum women should be able to at the very least provide resources for help! My daughter's PEDIATRICIAN diagnosed me and finally got me the help I needed. If you are pregnant and might be prone to PPD, please go elsewhere. I am grateful for the drs who stepped up when Dr. Lemaitre failed me.
