Dr. Kathryn Adamiak Davis, MD

Dr. Davis admitted to the hospital for about a week. She wanted to do a long term EEG to see if I was having night time seizures. She never came into the room the whole time I was there. In fact another doctor finally released me with a prescription for some unknown medicine. When I took this script to my pharmacy they did not have it in stock and said it would be well over $100 with insurance. I called them back and spoke with the secretary in the Neurology department. She said she would took to the doctor who prescribed the medicine to see if he could change it. I am not going back for the follow up. I will continue to see my sleep disorder doctor at Jeffereson University. He is on top of everything and even calls me back when I call him. I would not recommend Dr. Davis and/or University of Penn for Neurology. Go to Jefferson. They actually seem to care more and the sleep disorder doctor personally call you back. His response was call your sleep disorder doctor. Dr.… Davis had nothing to do with me once I was admitted and never saw me in the hospital. The hospital never tried any new medicines on me to see what would work. They just discharged me with a highly expensive script that I had trouble finding and eventually tore it up and threw it away. I wasted a week of my life being hooked up to an EEG machine and locked in a hospital room for testing that proved inconclusive.

All Medications have side effects, but Dr. Davis took the time to explain what issues may come up. She helped me understand about my illness and the long term effects. Overall she was very helpful.

Dr. Davis was not a good listener and took days to return calls. I lost confidence in her and found a new doctor who listens and cares.

Dr. Davis is kind and a good listener, but seems unsure of herself which caused us to lack confidence in her. Instead of prescribing a medication, she told us about 5 kinds, the side effects, all of which were bad, and said to pick one. Basically the Russian Roulette of medicine. She also missed an early reaction to a medication which caused it to become a full blown emergency. In later years she will probably be a great Doctor, but I don't want her "learning" on me.
