Dr. Kathryn Ann Followell, MD

Dr. Followell gave a very personal opinion in place of sound medical treatment. Lab results (the purpose of the visit) were not even discussed or even FOUND on that laptop she carries around. I feel like she is scatter-brained and isn't really aware of patients' needs and is in too much of a hurry to properly treat the patient. It's like she is in a hurry to dash off to the next patient and isn't giving YOU her full attention. She needs to keep her personal opinions to herself and base treatment plans on sound medical science, not knee-jerk reactions to personal issues. I will never go back to her and strongly urge anyone else to go elsewhere. Anywhere. She seems like a nice person but isn't a good doctor....at least not yet.

I went to see her as a new patient because I had just moved here from out of state. I told her the medications that I've been taking for over 2 years for a chronic illness. I even had my records with me. She was completely dismissive of my symptoms and basically accused me of being a drug seeker and a liar, when in fact I had all of my records, MRIs, surgeries, etc. to prove that I was not lying. She barely even looked at them. I understand that doctors need to be wary when it comes to certain drugs, but it's not like I came in there without any documentation. I was absolutely appalled by her attitude towards me. I have NEVER encountered a doctor who was so rude. Needless to say, I will never go back to this lady. After reading other reviews now, I'm surprised she still has her medical license. Someone needs to shut her down.

Never can get anyone to answer the phone let alone make and appointment when your sick. Staff not freindly. I have no problems with the doctor but am in search for a new Doctor who is more accessible.

DR. FOLLOWELL DOES NOT THINK BEFORE SHE ACTS. TAKING HER PATIENTS OFF OF MEDICATION FOR CHRONIC ILLNESSES. DOES NOT GIVE PATIENTS A TIME PERIOD TO RETURN TO THE OFFICE FOR FOLLOWING VISITS. OUR FEAR IS THAT SHE IS UNSTABLE IN HER PRATICE, BY PRESCRIBING MEDICATIONS THAT ARE FOR AN ILLNESS WHICH THE PATIENT DOES NOT HAVE, SOME OF THESE MEDICATIONS, IF TAKEN COULD BE HARMFUL AND HARZADOUS TO THE PATIENT. POTENTIALLY, A NIGHTMARE. HOW DID THIS DOCTOR GET A DEGREE TO PRACTICE MEDICINE.

I agree that she over-medicates. She also has diagnosed me with issues that it turns out, I don't have.

I was pleased to hear of her removal from the offices in Alton on Landmark. She and her staff over medicate, and under treat the actual issues. My pharmacist tells me her office has the highest volume of meds that patients didn't know what they were taking the meds for and I was included in that list. I no longer see her or her Np and won't go back.
