Dr. Katrina Lafaye Lee, MD

Terrible doctor, lacks communication, she needs to be retrained. I saw Dr. Lee July 25th, 2024 for a scheduled vaginal biopsy. The biopsy almost left me for dead. I bleed in the procedure room for an additional 10-15 minutes. I was told I was fine. I communicated with Dr. Lee and her staff via MyChart about all the complications I was having and was still told my symptoms were normal. August 6, 2024, I bled out at home and was taken to my local hospital where I passed out, received a blood transfusion and went into emergency surgery. I have since been diagnosed with pelvic congestion syndrome and venous insufficiency of the thigh and my mental state is not the same. I do not recommend this doctor to put a band-aid on a paper cut.

The best OBGYN! I loved her so much. She helped me deliver my first child 7 years ago, her and her staff took great care of me. I’m so sad she moved so far away, because here I am 4 weeks pregnant again and she can’t be my OB anymore. I highly recommend her!

Dr. Katrina was a horrible doctor. My wife was under treatment for our first baby in 2012. Very irresponsible doctor. Always had to wait more than a hour to see her. My wife had to C-section in Community Hospital in Munster Indiana. She did the surgery and since then never show up. My wife had serious infections and pain. Her surgery was so bad that my wife took 8 months to recover. We had to go another doctor to have recovery. Unfortunate!

Dr. Lee is an amazing doctor. She listened carefully as I described my symptoms. When we determined that I needed to see a dermatologist, she told me to keep her updated. The members of her staff are all so nice. That helps people want to see a doctor.

Dr. Lee has managed the care of two family members that I have repeatedly questioned as someone who works in the healthcare field. My sister recently visited her with concerns of having PCOS. She then proceeded to order 13 blood draws and 2 ultrasounds in order to diagnose her. Anyone in medicine knows PCOS is not a difficult diagnosis and can be done with something called the "Rotterdam Criteria" in which a patient with 2 of the listed symptoms of PCOS can be diagnosed on clinical basis. This saves a patient time, and money, from unnecessary testing and out of pocket costs. Do you think Dr Lee used this criteria? Hmmm. These 13 blood draws and 2 ultrasounds cost $5,000!!! After insurance, my sister was left to pay $1,000, and all Dr Lee did was have an official diagnosis and start her on a hormonal birth control. This is completely unacceptable and none of her testing truly would have changed her management of my sister's symptoms. I understand drawing SOME labs, then… proceeding from there. But the two ultrasounds? NOT NEEDED FOR DIAGNOSIS. On top of that, she was very nonchalant about my sister's concerns for infertility and conception issues later on. Overall, being a doctor requires being book smart and people smart--if you cannot treat your patients fiscally or empathetically, why are you practicing?

This lady is constantly running over an hour late. You're there for two hours, she rushes in to see you for 10 minutes and ignores any request or problem you have. She never follows up and has cancelled literally every single one of my appointments. She is absolutely rude and has made fun of me numerous times about my weight (I'm 5'9" and I weigh 130 lbs...) and my eczema on my legs. What kind of Dr makes fun of their patient?? She lacks respect and has a terrible bedside manner. She's forceful and not gentle at all in anything she does and I have never left their satisfied. I have been trying to find a new Dr, but haven't found anyone accepting new patients. very frustrating!!

I would truly never recommend this dr. To anyone. Honestly I have never filled out one of these before but I felt the need to do so for this dr. All the other comments about her ordering A LOT of unnecessary and expensive tests are true! She did the very same with me! I ended up having a miscarriage while I was under her care but before the miscarriage happened ( the baby still had a heartbeat) and at the time it was a " threatened miscarriage" she performed a pap on me without my consent while I was heavily bleeding. The test came back positive ( which it never has before) and she scared me to death while I was having a miscarriage. I ended up having a repeat pap while I was NOT bleeding with a new dr. And the test came back fine! While I was miscarrying she put my on a medicine to help everything along and I had some weird but scary symptoms while on it. I tried over and over to contact her about it and NEVER got a response so I stopped taking the meds until I could speak with her… because I was scared. When I finally did see her instead of apologizing she sternly yelled at me for stopping the meds. It was a VERY emotional time for me as I was loosing my baby and she had NO compassion at all! When we went into the ultrasound to see if he baby had a heartbeat or not ( this time it did not) they refused to let my husband in the room! She was also very rude to my 3 year old daughter. I had to bring her to one of the appts and right before she was going to do my exam she rudely moved my daughters chair ( without asking me) and faced her toward the wall stating she cannot watch what was going on causing my daughter to cry and want to be held by me. Also, the waiting time is terrible you will always wait at least 45 minutes!!

Dr. Lee is always in a big hurry. Never has time to answer questions. She really seems like she does not wish to speak with me at all. She becomes impatient if you do not answer her very quickly. No bedside manner at all. Never says how are you, have a nice day or anything. Comes in the room, looks at your chart, does the exam then leaves with no conversation at all. She will always order tests however, last year a total of three ultrasounds and this year already wants me to get an ultrasound and of course another office visit. Seems like she is just trying to bring in more money because she sure does not care to speak with me about anything.

I don't recommend this doctor. She rushes on your tests. She works with a lousy lab. I had to have 3 times the PAP to get a result. She also order tests you don't need, and before she checks if your insurance will pay for them. I definetely won't recomend her.

I have recommended Dr. Lee services to others. She is very thorough, intelligent and spends extensive time with her patients. She cares about her patients and their well being. She goes above and beyond providing patient care.
