Dr. Kausalya Chennapragada, MD

Dr. Chennapragada is my primary care doctor in the John Muir Network, out of Walnut Creek, CA. I have been very impressed with her caring, bedside manner and great communication skills. She takes the time to analyze and get to the root cause of a problem, then come up with the appropriate medical course of action or recommend a referral if the problem requires a specialist. She is very knowledgeable in the field of general medicine and went to excellent medical schools. As a senior, I appreciate the fact that she always takes her time to explain issues with me in a manner I can understand or gets back to me on questions that need further research. She is very thorough and I depend upon her to keep me healthy, so that I can live a long healthy life.

Dr. KC is very kind, compassionate, and receptive. She really listens to what you say and she works with you to create an appropriate treatment plan. She is non-judgmental and makes you feel at ease in the exam room. I have been treating with her for a while now and she is my Mothers doctor as well. We both tell everyone who is looking for a doctor to schedule with Dr. KC. I have a chronic condition that flares up periodically. The last time, it took the practice I was treating with over 7 months to get the insurance authorization for the treatment I needed. Dr. KC and the John Muir staff completed this same plan in less than 3 weeks! I am so happy with my decision to elect Dr. KC as my primary physician. Her bedside manner is impeccable and her staff is very nice.

I'm a 26 y/o female that was working full time and dealing with way too much for the average human being my age, in a non-managerial position. I thought there was something wrong with me for not being able to function on a daily basis. I documented everything: my symptoms, my lifestyle, the situations with my job that were sending me to panic attacks and breakdowns. I had FOUR PAGES of this nonsense, and I was terribly nervous because I had never met Dr. KC and all my doctors, even as a teenager, had never given me the time of day. Because my issues felt so severe and urgent at the time of my visit, I was really nervous I would just be told to suck it up and deal with it; that's life. Dr. KC was incredibly kind and receptive and she took the time to read all about my issues while I sat there sobbing in the exam room. I fought the urge to hug her every time I saw her. She is so gentle in how she speaks to you, and really incredibly receptive to what you're feeling. The staff at John… Muir is also very, very kind. I had not met one person there that I didn't like or had a hard time talking to. I'm a VERY shy person, especially when it comes to taking care of myself. As much as I love Dr. KC, I really want her all to myself...but in all honesty, if you're looking for a new doctor, or you're like me (young, and have never had to establish yourself anywhere before without mommy!), I highly recommend her.
