Dr. Kaye Zuckerman, MD

To say that Dr Zuckerman is an amazing doctor is an understatement. She helped me through the worst part of my life. I had my first visit with her to confirm that I had breast cancer. All of the following appointments with her made the process as good as it could be. Her upbeat and down to earth attitude made the process as smooth and lighthearted as it could be. She continues to be just as compassionate and kindhearted with all of my follow up appointments as she was the first day that I met her. She truly is a gem! I would highly recommend her!!

Dr Zuckerman is thorough, compassionate and an all around excellent surgeon. She explains the surgery including drawing pictures and answers any questions I had at any time. She’s so respected at Yale which is an awesome feeling as a patient. I was very well taken care of. She’s funny and very down to earth! Love her!!

Dr. Zuckerman has performed four surgeries on me. For all four surgeries, I received nothing but impeccable treatment. She was warm, kind, knowledgeable and explained my conditions to me in ways that I could understand (given that I am not in the medical field). She is comfortable to talk to and has a great sense of humor. I recovered quickly from all four surgeries and experienced no unmanageable pain, which tells me that she’s careful in the operating room. My next appointment is not for another four months. I’m very glad I am not cancer-free, but I’ll miss seeing her.

I was truly blessed to have Dr. Zuckerman enter into my life during a very trying time. My initial visit, and all follow up visits, were pleasurable. She is a very detailed oriented doctor who spends a lot of her time with her patience. She’s educational, compassionate, patient and has a great sense of humor. My surgery was a breeze. Based on her astounding skills, I had minimal pain and minute scaring. Her bedside manners are impeccable. I would rather fight then switch to another doctor. As long as she’s in practice, I will be a lifetime patient of hers. I highly recommend her. She’s the BEST.

Extremely pleasant doctor, very capable, generous with her time in explanation of problem and solution.

I had an emergency appendectomy and Dr. Zuckerman war my surgeon. She was exceptional from the initial visit where she put me at ease and set my expectations, to the pre-op visit to make sure I was okay with everything and feeling calm, to the follow up visit where she took the time to examine me and give me her recommendations as far as my recovery. However, this is what really astonished me. The surgery was laparoscopic and even though it is less invasive, Dr. Zuckerman's precision in not causing too much additional trauma while working on the appendix allowed me to not even need to get the prescription for pain medication filled. I had the surgery in the morning, was on my feet in the afternoon, and was on my way home that night (based on my decision, not anyone pushing). I just felt well enough to go home as there was very little pain. I only took ibuprofen, and that was just for a day or two. Overall, the experience was top notch. It was clear to me Dr. Zuckerman is a… detail oriented and very skilled surgeon. She is also very personable and sets great expectations. I highly recommend her. It was a great experience.

I connected with Dr Zuckerman on day one. Having cancer was frightening to me. She listened, offered a smile and a gentle touch. She was clear about treatment, gave excellent care and her focus was me, the patient. If I was having a bad day, she pulled up a stool and sat with me, always offering support, encouragement and the reassurance that as I move on to chemo, she will still be available to me through out my treatment. I've never had such wonderful care, ever!

Very gentle and thorough

After an unpleasant experience with another breast surgeon, Zuckerman's competency and compassion were highly reassuring. I felt very comfortable with her explanations and recommendations, and my surgical biopsy was superbly executed. She seemed on the cutting edge as well as conscientious regarding the potential impact of a pending breast biopsy on my extant lymphedema. Unfortunately, she has had three different office assistants in the scant year I've been working with her, and this has led to a lack of timely follow up on biopsy reports. Most recently, her office scheduled my annual mammogram, but failed to provide the facility with they scheduled the required requisition, resulting in my spending 2-1/2 hours in a freezing hospital sub-basement in half a hospital johnny while the diagnostic imaging facility waited for her offices to open and forward the basic paperwork and records. There is enough trauma surrounding breast care w/o the addition of office incompetence.

The doctor has failed to follow up with me or with my other physicians. She has failed to return any phone calls. I have tried to reach her 6 times in the last month she has been unavailable and apparently, unwilling to call back. I spent a lot of money on my office visit for absolutely nothing.
