Similar to physical wounds, emotional injuries (excessive worries, shame/guilt, self-loathing, repressed anger, etc.) also deserve our special care. As a licensed psychologist, I have years of experience working with diverse client populations at various inpatient and outpatient settings. By creating a safe and warm environment, my role is both an empathic listener and a supportive guide in your journey of personal exploration and growth. Integrating different evidence-based treatment modalities, my treatment strives for a balance between symptom reduction/coping skills development (initial phase), followed by a deeper exploration of your significant early life experiences and/or past traumas and their impact on who you are today. I highly value and am sensitive to the interaction of each client's multiple cultural identities (gender, age, race/ethnicity, SES, career identity, parental role, veteran status, immigration status, etc.) and their impacts on social and psychological …well-being. Besides clinical work, I am also passionate about topics of cross-cultural and racism-related stress and have published several research articles in these areas. As a bilingual therapist, I am more than happy to offer sessions in Mandarin Chinese.
