Dr. Keisha Monique Brown, MD

Tried to make an appointment here for my son. When I first called the first question I was asked was what insurance do I have. I told them Anthem BCBS and the immediate response was we don’t take that. Then I was told oh we do take that and asked to hold. When the lady came back to the phone, I made the mistake of telling her that my son has both Anthem and Medicaid. She put me on hold again and came back to ask what type of appointment I needed. I told her and she put me on hold again. She came back again and told me she can scheduled me with a nurse who ONLY does telemedicine. I told her for what I needed for my son, I would like to see Dr. Brown, which is who I called for. She then proceeds to tell me that because I have Medicaid, they can’t take my Anthem Ins and he can’t be seen my Dr. Brown. At this point I had not even told her my name or given her any info about myself. So I asked her to just put in my Anthem info and not to use the Medicaid info. She proceeds to try to give me… other places I can call who “may be” able to help. They other places she gave me were not what I needed for my son. I asked her to just run my information or I would just call back and start all over and not tell them I had Medicaid the next time I called since she didn’t know who I was anyway and she basically brushed me off and told me to have a nice day. She would not even look my information up to confirm if he would be able to be seen. THIS is the problem! We have people suffering from mental health issues and you can even get the proper help you need even with Insurance. The medical insurance sucks. Seems like maybe Dr. Brown may have been a good fit for my son but know I will never know. Oh well back to the drawing board of incompetence.

Wow!! I normally do not write reviews but I had to share this experience so that it dosen't happen to another family. I spend almost a week trying to make an appointment for my niece with this doctor's staff member who identified herself as the office manager. The first day I called I asked question like are you excepting new patients and at this time and I was told YES we are. Other questions like do you except my insurance with name of the insurance company to make sure they are in my network, Do you see children? etc. This member of the team was poorly trained to be an office manager because she did not how to get an authorization number from my insurance company after they approved my niece to be seen. Wow! She refuse to even pickup the phone to get verification with the authorization number I had already given her from the my insurance company. My insurance company have a Provider's Portal for their office to use which she could have pulled up in seconds if she was aware of how to… use the system. Very poor training to be an office manager. In the end this office manager after I have to do all the work for her and they have my niece personal information tells me "At this time we are not excepting new patients from your insurance company" Wow!! If this is the type of service they are giving from the beginning...WOW!! My husband is a Retired Disabled American Veteran and I his spouse of 30 years and I have never seen such incompetence. We pay our premium and co-payments just as anyone else. just

I was cautious about using Dr. Brown, especially after reviewing the below reviews; but my Pediatrician urged me to see her because he felt she was an excellent Child Psychiatrist. I was able to get an appointment in about two weeks. Dr. Brown's staff was very friendly and even took time to explain my insurance deductible to me. When I first met her, she seemed very warm, which was good because my daughter was very shy. My daughter has ADHD and Dr. Brown performed an extensive medical examination. She made my daughter laugh and took time to answer all of my questions regarding treatment, planning for school and social skills training. When we were about to leave, my daughter ran to Dr. Brown and gave her a hug. I saw a big smile on her face and new we found the right Child Psychiatrist. After the appointment, I did some research on Dr. Brown and discovered she had a great reputation in the community, was trained at Emory and was one of only a few Child Psychiatrists… in Georgia that was also a woman AND also took insurance. Many of the Child Psychiatrists I called did not take insurance and charged upfront fees I could not afford. Several months later, my daughter is doing extremely well following Dr. Brown's treatment plan. The medication she prescribed was on point and Dr. Brown does a great job of building up my daughter's social skills during the session. My husband and I have also been well informed about my daughter's diagnosis as Dr. Brown is an expert intreating kids with ADHD. I trust Dr. Brown with my daughter and am glad I made that first call.

This is the WORST psychiatrist (or doctor in general for that matter) that I've ever been to. They are so overbooked that it takes months to get an appointment and if you do you better not have an emergency or have to reschedule because it will be forever before you get another one. I had an emergency the day I was supposed to confirm my last appointment and didn't get the message until it was too late to confirm. So I asked to reschedule and I was put on a waiting list for cancellations with 17 people in front of me. A month goes by and I still have not heard anything from them so I called a week ago and after no response for 8 days someone finally answers the phone and tells me they will put a note on the doctor's desk asking if she will send in a refill for my medicine since I am unable to see her for an appointment. I was supposed to get a call back the same day telling me whether or not she was able to send in a prescription. I was getting worried so I kept trying to call the… office back but as usual no one answered. So here it is the next day and I am out of my medicine. The pharmacist said that the doctor did not send in a prescription. This is a medicine that is very dangerous to just stop taking and this is very irresponsible of her as a doctor to allow one of her patients to run out of this medicine just because they did not have an appointment to see her for the five minutes that she spends with people. Thank goodness my last doctor prescribed me and extra 10 pills after on left her to make sure I had time to find another doctor so I have that infill I find another doctor again. I do not feel that she is an adequate Dr and I am sorry to have wasted my time and money going to her.

One of the worst doctors I have been seen by. She was always late. Give a courtesy call or reschedule. Gave my appointment away with out letting me confirm it. She only spends 5 minutes with you.

I love Dr. Brown. She is very courteous and my grand children loves him.

Doctor Brown was very patient with all of my questions and seemed to be an expert in matters related to ADHD and Women's Health. Great bedside manner and extremely friendly. Her staff is friendly and seems to be very efficient. Almost all of the time, I am seen at my scheduled time, that never happens at any of my other doctors offices.

The doctor is great, very professional- dressed nicely & her office room is organized & nice. But the front office staff leaves very little to desire. They were all dressed unprofessional in regular T-shirts, jeans, some were in flip flops. Just way too casual for a doctors office staff to instill security, comfort & trust in patients in a professional medical environment. Their "reception area" is unorganized with 3 desks put in 1 office room with files and papers stacked on top and laid out everywhere. Some staff weren't as courteous as others. There is just no organization or professionalism in the reception/waiting process. The 4 stars I gave for bedside manner is solely for the doctor- not the staff included. And the 3 stars overall rating is for the entire practice because even though I feel the doctor is great, I believe that they are responsible for their office staff and they should not allow them to come to work dressed as such and operate the reception area as such… because it gives the entire practice a negative reputation.

Very professional. She really took the time to get to know me. My appointments with other psychiatrists only lasted about 15 minutes...that is, if I got to see the M.D. and not his P.A. Seeing Dr. Brown, I was assurred that only she would treat me and that her diagnosis would be based on detailed insight. For this reason, I give her an excellent recommendation.
