Dr. Keith Allan Mayo

Dr. Mayo and his team are simply excellent. I wish everything at Swedish was at top notch as this Doctors office and his staff. I was disappointed to hear that Swedish won't be supporting access to hip preservation with an excellent Doctor like Dr. Mayo. He's phenomenal - attention to detail, knowledge, compassion are all present.

Dr. Mayo was so helpful. I am only 38 and need a hip replacement but was hoping for a chance that PAO may be an option so I reached out to him for a second opinion. He spent an hour going through MRIs, CTs, and x-rays with me. He is Ed bone models to explain what my hip looks like and why I wouldn’t have amazing outcomes with a PAO and why a hip replacement would see better results. I appreciated his thoroughness and the time he took to show me what was going on.

Provider and his staff are courteous, professional, and caring. We were kept up to date with all that was occurring during the entire appointment.

The first time he saved my life I was 13 I was a victim of a hit and run and destroyed my pelvis and right hip because I was so young he piced me back together and I was able to walk again at the age of around 20 I had been in another accident and messed up my right hip again so after going to countless Dr I decided I had to find Keith and see if he could fix my hip again and after a total hip replacement I have lived my life so far pain free and able to walk with that being said Keith mayo is The Best There is I Thank him every day when I wake up !

Dr. Mayo recently did my teenagers PAO surgery. He was professional, had a very good bedside manner, and quickly gained my trust. This procedure is pretty intensive, and I was very worried, as any mother would be. Dr. Mayo provided me all of the available evidence base to support the use of this procedure, including research that he has been involved with. His evaluation was comprehensive, and he never appeared to be rushed or too busy to explain what his thoughts were about her particular situation. My daughter was a very good athlete, and she was expecting to earn scholarships for basketball. The unfortunate diagnosis of hip dysplasia has changed her life significantly. But knowing that she is a candidate for the best possible outcome is great news to us. Knowing she is in great hands is even better. She may not be an athlete again, we just don't know yet. It's too soon to tell. But we're celebrating that she will be able to live her life without the threat of early onset arthritis… or necessary early hip replacement. I believe that Dr. Mayo has extensive knowledge due to his experience and ongoing research about the procedure. With her surgery, he has done the very best possible for my daughter.

After a decade of doctors in Los Angeles and San Francisco telling me i had bursitis in my right hip and pumping me full of cortisone shots due to their misdiagnosis. A few Seattle doctors told me I simply had arthritis, or a cyst or that i needed a hip replacement -but I finally found Dr. Mayo and got the correct diagnosis. He was also one of the top doctors in the country doing pelvic osteotomy surgeries. He spent a lot of time with my husband and I prior to the surgery and his office staff was always amazing. He followed up with me in and out of the hospital. My recovery was quicker than expected and I have lived pain free for the past 8 years.

I believe dr. mayo did my surgery in Michigan in 1997 when another dr. messed up my ankle so bad I couldn't walk. now I can walk fine and have no problems he is the dr. I have ever had.

I had the fortunate experience of having Dr Mayo do hip surgery after years of beng shuffled around by other doctors. The experience was awesome and have had the good luck of being able to contact him throughout the years with an occasional question or concern. I spent a lot of those post surgery years being a Firefighter, Paramedic, playing various sports and still to this day play about 6-8 games of softball a week without any complications for 20 years.
