Dr. Keith H Uleis, MD

When I saw Dr. Uleis for a full physical, he made (at first) a big impression on me. I told him I had several issues I wanted to be looked at and he kept on saying (in a bit of a goofy / friendly way) "we will check everything, do not worry". But before I could even tell him about the first issue, he would keep on interrupting and go in and out of the room, I ended up seeing him only a few minutes (even though it was for a physical) and I walked out of there with none of my issues resolved. In a follow-up visit, he noticed that a liver test result was high and asked if I was a drinker. As I was trying to tell him that I was in fact a big drinker, he cut me short by saying in a goofy way "stop drinking, stop drinking". I was not sure if I had a drinking problem back then (it turned out I did not, but he did not know that at the time) but if I had indeed an addiction, simply telling me "stop drinking" (in what did not sound like a serious way), was really not helping at all (as an… addict cannot necessarily stop drinking like that). He never tried to discuss to see if I had a problem and what I could do about it, etc.

Dr. Uleis is extremely thorough and spent a significant amount of time with me, explaining everything he was doing and why (down to taking my blood pressure!) and he spotted a heart murmur that other doctors hadn't picked up. He is so friendly and extremely intelligent. I genuinely recommend this doctor.

Dr. Uleis is the best. I mean he wants to get down to everything so that he does not miss anything. I have know him long ago. I trust him so much. I have another doctor he recommended for my Family doctor but when he is not around l will go to Dr. Uleis anytime. We love you Dr. Uleis you are the best they have in your facility.

Dr. Uleis is a fine doctor. He is my primary-care physician. Although he sees many patients at Manhattan's Beth Israel Medical Center's walk-in clinic, he spends plenty of time with me (15 or so minutes per visit). He asks and answers questions well. He also consults medical texts, often bringing the relevant book into the examination room to explain his diagnosis and treatment plan. I have recommended Dr. Uleis to my friends and relatives and am happy to do so again here.

Dr Uleis is simply an excellent doctor. Don't let his quirky manner get in the way, this guy is smart as a whip and the most thorough doctor I have ever seen. His attention to detail is amazing, and he thinks it is essential for a patient to understand their condition, to the point where he will provide you with medical articles about it. Dr. Uleis expects his patients to take an active role in their health which I think is an excellent and refreshing way to practice. He will spend time with you, is great at following up with results and will actually take the time to follow up with you on your recovery. Just enjoy his friendly and quirky personality and he will cure you. No appointment required Monday Wednesday Friday. You can't go wrong with this guy.

While I have had mixed feelings about DOCs, they are always there. I am very grateful to Dr. Uleis for paying attention to my stomach pains, and realizing that it was probably appendicitis. He sent me upstairs to get a CAT scan immediately, even coming up with me to make sure I was taking care of, and then got the results as soon as he could, sending me after in an ambulance to Beth Israel for an appendectomy and setting me up with a great surgeon. I will definitely see him again.

I've been going to Dr. Uleis for years now at the DOCS on 34th street. With an appointment the wait is not that long. He is very nice, polite and takes time to explain your condition, effects of medications and encourages you to call him if you have any questions. He is a good doctor altogether.

Headed to the office during 6PM of a Friday. Waited more than half hour to be seen by the doctor, only for less than 3 minutes without any thorough examinations. Gave me a referal to another doctor in the same office and charged $250.
