Excellent Dr. Very good hands - the injections don't even hurt. Cares and will spend time with you. Knowledgeable. She gave me a stretching exercise no one else told me about (5 other docs and 5 physical therapists and 5 chiropractors!) which already helped me. She spent 30 minutes with me today answering questions. So I doubt the negative reviews Please also remember before you judge the reviews that those who are upset are mostly from late 2019 which is probably just one person. 3 of them posted within 3 days of each other! I find that strange.

Dr. Gates is a very nice doctor and does wonderfully at injections. I was thankful she understood and agreed with me on how I do not want to be put on any opiate medications. But I unfortunately ran into issues concerning the office (losing paperwork, scheduling) and the clinical nurse. I honestly felt like I was not cared about, they didnt care I was in pain and were perfectly fine with letting me sit in pain because she was too busy. It may be different now, but I know when I was seeing her her office was taking on other practices and even though I had been seeing her 3 months the earliest I could get in was 3 weeks. There were other things that occurred that lead to me being frustrated which could have been because the practice was overloaded at the time. But my shot wore off and the medications (these are not opiate medications) I was put on were not helping with my pain. I was in as much pain as when I first started seeing her. I contacted the nurse and her first response "I… dunno what you want me to tell you, just wait until your tele-visit (this was 2 weeks away)". I had to request for her to actually talk to the doctor to see if she would do something, but again met with "wait until your appointment". I vented to the nurse the issues had so far concerning the office and that the doctor couldn't even get on the phone with me for 5 mins to talk to me and discuss things I hade already told the nurse because she was too busy. The nurse told me "Well you dont have to come here. You are free to find a new doctor" and while I found it rude, I am actually happy she said that. I found a new doctor that treats me well and felt like he cared, he actually did a full physical. He explained the full treatment plan for specific pain issues I am having and I can get into the office in less than a week if something happens. That is because they have 6 pain doctors working out the same office and 3 other locations I can go to if they are at another office so I can always get a hold of someone. I am out of pain now with my new doctor without being on opiates and with the correct treatment plan for me. So thank you nurse for pushing me to see someone else because I probably would still be in pain. After 7 years of pain, tons of steroid shots over the years and two surgeries I am finally seeing the end of the tunnel, just not with Dr. Gates.

Dr Gates is so caring and great at what she does. She talks to each of her patients, truly listens to their concerns, and provides painless injections. I’ve never felt better. Thank you so much Dr Gates for all of your help!

She is lacking experience in applying facet blocks. I would not trust her with a flu shot.

Your first office visit with KG will be learning all about her accomplishments. She will ask about your medications, then imply you could be selling pills you don't use. Part 1..........more to follow.

I only gave her one star because I had to give her something. She doesn't want to help people. She wants to imply you are an addict because you take the medication SHE prescribes. She will make unilateral medical decisions about your care without any sort of doctor/patient relationship. Stay away from Iowa Clinic and her in particular.
