Poor reception

I had a bad experience with this doctor. I met her half a dozen times over a year for consultations and treatments. My main issue with her was that I felt her attitude toward me throughout the visits and treatments lacked respect for me as a patient.

Dr. McInnis is amazing. I have been to 6 other doctors for this issue (athletic pubalgia), and she was the first to really understand it. She conducted a very thorough physical exam and clearly explained my condition and options. I only wish I had seen her sooner!

My visit with Dr. McInnis was to undergo an ultrasound-guided cortisone injection to my left shoulder. She was very thorough in her preliminary examination and interview; she apprised me of all risks; she discussed clinical findings related to my condition (severe osteoarthritis of left shoulder); she discussed treatment rationale, expectations and options down the road; she described the procedure and what to expect and monitored my well-being over the course of the procedure. The treatment was administered with minimal discomfort, and I was advised about aftercare in a comprehensive way. Bravo.

I met this doctor several times and was treated for a hamstring injury. I found this doctor to be very rude and arrogant. She was not a very good listener, had a poor bedside manner, was in a hurry, and would cut short appointments, sometimes in mid-sentence. Her advice and treatment were not helpful.

Dr McInnis is the best doctor I have ever had. I am a 70 year old woman who has seen many doctors of many disciplines. She is smart, thorough and empathetic. Love this doctor.

unfortunately i am no stranger to orthopedic visits. While training for a marathon i started having severe run stopping hip pain. The Dr's i had seen mis-diagnosed my injury as bursitis tendinitis and for 9 months i was in Physical Therapy and i kept running. Long story short i finally get an MRI to find i have a torn labrum. Not a major tear but enough of a nuisance it has halted my running completely and causes daily pain. Refusing to see my original Dr's i visited Dr Mcinnis based on a recommendation from another shoulder ortho that i respect very much. Her Exam was thorough, she reviewed the MRI images right in front of me and explained exactly what is going on in a way i can understand her. She provided me a non surgical game plan and told me what to expect going forward with an injection and PT and what muscles i will specifically need to aggressively work in order to get me back to pain free running. She was a bit stern but as a runner i respect that we runners tend to be pains… in the butts to work with. I walked out of this appointment feeling comfortable, confident i found the right Dr, and optimistic!

Dr. McInnis is extremely rude and dismissive. She has showed absolutely no empathy for the pain/injury that I am experiencing and was even accusatory of my symptoms. She came highly recommended but I have never felt more uncomfortable with a doctor than I do her. When SHE decides that the appointment is over, she literally walks out the door mid-sentence and she doesn't even bother to say goodbye. Additionally on a number of occasions she has said that she has told me things that she tells "all her patients" but I have no recollection of this so called information that she says she has shared with me. Today I had another question to ask her after our appointment and as I approached her, she turned around and said "yeah, what's up." My two questions were about a follow-up visit and physical therapy. Which again she could barely be bothered with and spoke to me with her back to me as she walked away. I will be seeking a second opinion and a new ortho, one that is willing to take them… time to talk to me and explain to me what may or may not be going on, one that may show some compassion. I certainly don't need or want to be doted on in any way, I'm just looking for a doctor that might care for their patients wellbeing, help in finding the source of my pain, next steps, etc.
