Dr. Kemunto Phoebe Kakumba, MD

Dr. Kakumba is wonderful in her knowledge base, her ability to listen, her compasion and caring. I was switched to her when my PC relocated. Our first visit made me feel like I had at long last found MY doctor and a deep sense of trust instantly. 30 days later upon calling for a refill, one of her front desk staff went irrationally insane on me over the phone, screaming, accusing, etc. I was unable to figure out exactly why, no matter how often I calmly asked what was wrong! I finally called back and asked to have Dr. Kakumba call me herself since clearly I was unable to communicate with the front desk girl. No response. The next day I got a very terse...registered letter from Dr. K stating that due to the way I treated her "trusted staff" I was immediatly removed from her care and she would no longer be my PC. To this day I have no idea what happened, with the exception of finding out the girl had made a follow up appointment for me that I was unaware of and of course was a no show as… a result. This same girl had been given a message to call me and let me know of the appointment..and had not done so, had gotten caught in her mistake, and I can only assume that is why she went so crazy on the phone with me. This was devastating to me! I had a long standing and wonderful raport with the doctor's assistants in the office for over 5 years. Suddenly, I have no doctor and was refused an explanation. Dr. Kakumba, while wonderful in her craft, should have spoken to me as her patient and given me the opportunity to let her know what transpired and how I was treated, rather than just believing whatever story this receptionist told in order to cover her mistake! Any good doctor would and should listen to their patient if there is a situation....and try to resolve it rather than cutting off medical service to a patient for no reason. I ran into Dr. Kakumba in a store recently and she would not make eye contact with me and vanished from the store in under two minutes. NO one should ever have to go through what I did...because of front office staff not doing their job...and in order to save their job...take out their mistakes on a patient! Be careful.....please....if you are considering this doctor! I have never fully gotten over what happened and the mystery of it is heartbreaking!

Such a pleasant person, takes her time and reviews all aspects of health care. Would recommend her to anyone. Also, a great sense of humor.
