Dr. Kenneth Murray Edstrom, MD

I’ve had 4 children. Dr Edstrom delivered my first, and ONLY my first. He was extremely inappropriate, asked invasive questions like “who initiates sex between you” “what is the foreplay like?”, etc etc. He pushed his religion on us, and even insisted on praying over us though we’d declined. He also did cervical and breast exams at every single appointment during my pregnancy. Because it was my first child, I didn’t know that wasn’t normal. He swept my membranes at 37 weeks without getting my consent first, and my son was born within hours. It turned out he had a vacation planned the week of my due date. I switched to another obgyn when Dr Edstrom was dismissive and uncaring during a miscarriage several months later. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone.

for everyone that’s commented how bad their experience was: i honestly don’t see what you guys see at all, dr. edstrom was my doctor for over 13 years, i started developing problems at age 10 with my health and he was the one who figured it out when 10 others doctors couldn’t. i got told by 100 doctors that i would never be able to have kids but dr.edstrom told me to never say never, and sure enough, by age 20 i had my daughter. my pregnancy was high risk and i was always so worried about my baby but you know who helped me through all of that and put my mind at ease? dr. edstrom. not only was he my doctor but he has delivered 5 people or more from my family. he is a kind hearted, bluntly honest, understanding, wise and caring doctor. he builds great relationships with his patients and to me, i almost felt like one of his kids. he has character, he makes jokes, if you’re feeling sad about something he’ll try to make you laugh. i am sorry to whoever thinks dr.edstrom was a bad man but i… think you guys didn’t give him the opportunity to really get to know you. he might be a little uptight but as you continue to go and see him you’ll notice how he kinda comes out of that shell. it honestly breaks my heart to read all of these negative comments, i don’t know exactly what happened or with you, but i can say never let a few negative reviews affect whether or not you’re going to do something or go somewhere. you guys might not see where i’m coming from but when you have someone in your life, as a doctor, a person to look up to, you’ll understand. when i found out dr edstrom was retiring i was sad because he delivered my daughter, he showed me that when people knock you down you can always get up and when people tell you no there’s always gonna be someone else to tell you yes. he has a sense of humor and he loves his family with all of his heart and i’m sad that you guys didn’t get to see that side of him because he was a great doctor, a great husband, a great dad and a great grandpa. not posting this to get negative comments, just want you all to know that he was a good person and a few bad accusations shouldn’t define him as a doctor.

I love Dr.Edstrom. He delivered my 3rd child. I wish he would've delivered all 3! He was great throughout the whole pregnancy and wonderful during the labor. Always considerate and has a good sense of humor. Great guy and good heart. Made everything comfortable as possible. I really appreciate him. He was very careful during the birth of my child which made me feel like he really cares. Always gave me my best options and made sure I was aware of everything I might want to know.

Dr Edstrom and his staff are amazing! I know he genuinely cares about every patient and every procedure preformed. I will never see anyone else. My only complaint is I should have found him and this practice sooner! I appreciate the extra mile that is always taken, from the aftercare calls, to the prayers and smiles you share. Definitely recommend this practice.

Absolutely exceptional Doctor. He delivered my daughter during an emergency delivery and is now my Permanent OB. We now live 85 miles away from his office and I commute just to keep him as my doctor. Will never use anyone else!

Dr. Edstrom was highly recommended so I was extremely surprised to experience him as coarse, impersonal, and rude. I left his care at 5 months along, after coming home crying after an appointment in which I felt patronized and basically treated as if I was a noncompliant troublemaker by asking about his attitude towards episiotomies (I had understood that it depends on the practitioner; some prefer to do them while others use other methods first and only do them as a last resort) and his opinion regarding the book "Birth without Violence." I will never forget how he whipped his head around, stared me right in the eye and said "What is YOUR first memory?" Implying that since I do not remember my own birth, that the conditions and treatment were not of concern. I also got the very strong impression that he likes his patients "seen and not necessarily heard." I never went back after that appointment and thankfully found another provider whose bedside manner was more civilized,… respectful, and understanding.

I've been going to this doctor for 16 plus years, and I've noticed a decline in professionalism, bed side manner, and inappropriate conversation. I'm actually looking for a new doctor now. I would NOT recommend this doctor, he clearly doesn't have his priorities straight. He rushes you through appointments, is rough, and inconsiderate when he types the whole time and then doesn't tell you what is going on. Even when I have questions, he's short and rushed. Last time I was pushed to get a blood test for my Thyroid and diabetes, even though I wasn't having any issues. Then the insurance company told me that it was for blood work, that they don't cover. Turns out it was for my Testosterone blood levels. I have lost trust, and have been mislead. To me that means everything!

I saw Dr Edstrom in 2010 for a hysterectomy ... My life has not been the same something went terribly wrong and I have been in constant pain ever since this procedure. Maybe he is a great baby deliverer but please do not have a hysterectomy from this man. I have a friend who also has suffered with pain since her hysterectomy done. Actually would recommend going to HERS site before having this procedure done....Use wisdom.

I started coming to Dr. Edstrom because he was recommended to me by a friend, it was for my first pregnancy and being totally lost in what to do I decided sure lets just go with it. BAD CHOICE!! First child or not I even knew how unprofessional he was. Answering personal calls during visits (not hospital calls, they would be like "Ill be late for dinner" calls) He never explained what in the world he was doing half the time and was very forceful with checkups. I didn't know how this was exactly suppose to go and everyone told me "oh that's how they all are" I developed PUPPS later on in my pregnancy and he had NO clue what was wrong with me, told me to take allergy medicine and that was it. I ended up two weeks later in urgent care after I had woke up covered in blood from scratching myself in my sleep so much! When this was brought to his attention, he just kind of brushed it off and said "well they look ok now". Most my appointments hed even ask if a nurse was needed in the room,… isn't it law?! I always said yes! Finally my last OB appointment with him he scrapped my membranes without even telling me that's what he did (found out the next day when I was at the hospital in so much pain...aka he started my labor when I still had a week till my due date!!!) During delivery he seemed annoyed because...hey I was in pain! kept yelling at me to stop moving and every twitch hed back up and say "this wont work if you do that!!". Luckily my baby came out safe and sound and I never have to go back to him again! I would of left him and found a different dr but I kept waiting to like him. I kept making excuses saying "oh I always come when hes really busy" or "maybe hes having a bad day", Now I know for next time, shop around!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Edstrom for 20 years, plus he delivered all three of my children. He is a wonderful doctor! He is very courteous and knowledgeable. He spends a lot of time with me, trying to understand my issues/concerns. Highly recommend Dr. Edstrom!
