He fixed my son's coarctation. Did an excellent job. The cardiologists in town say he is exceptionally good at this type of surgery. If you were to go to another town you would get a resident not the top surgeon performing the surgery.

Dr. Fox has performed one open heart surgery on my child, and was to perform a second one but due to his approach, behavior, and refusal to consider alternatives, we chose to have the procedure performed in Houston.Dr. Fox had refused to perform a procedure on my son, however, the Cardiologists we worked with forgot to relate this to us and sent us to our surgical appointment anyway stating that he was. The confusion culminated in a tense visit in which we felt condescended to and judged by him, his essentially placing the blame on us that, due to weight, the procedure that gave my child the best chance could not be performed.Dr. Fox demanded that my child, 13, drop roughly a third of his body weight in three months before he would even consider operating on him. My child left the appointment shamed, and feeling like his doctors were going to let him die because he was fat - a weight issue, incidentally, compounded by medical orders 7 years in place not to exercise due to the strain on… his heart.At the most vulnerable time in my child's life, the man that he was supposed to count on failed my son. The statements Dr. Fox made in front of my child should never have been said, and within two weeks my child was in therapy to help him deal with it. It was that bad.Thankfully, we traveled to Houston and found a surgeon that not only saw no reason that my child could not have the procedure Dr. Fox refused to perform, but who also felt Dr. Fox's original repair needed to be reattempted before even considering more drastic measures. Make of that what you will.Our faith in Dr. Fox for more complex approaches, and patient centered care, is gone. I would strongly suggest anyone that goes to Dr. Fox get a second surgical opinion before agreeing to surgery he recommends to absolutely ensure that the surgical approach being taken is the correct one for your child.

My daughter has had 2 open heart surgeries that were both done by dr.fox. she will have another one by him next summer. dr. fox is an excellent surgeon and saved my daughters life. her 1st surgery she was 28 days old the 2nd she was 6mo and she is now 2. she was born with several heart defects.he told us what to expect and awnsered any question we had. i cant say enough good things about him!

Dr Fox is an excellent surgeon! He was the specialist on call when my daughter was injured and needed open heart surgery immediately.I remember the surgeon in the ER at Dell Children's hosptial reassuring me and saying if he had to have anyone operate on his kids it would be Dr Fox.Dr Fox did a wondeful job and my daughter has totally recovered and is totally healthy today.Thank you Dr Fox!!!

Teresa Vela, their main scrub,is also the best in her field as well.
