Dr. Kenneth C Gorson, MD

I came down CIDP and NO ONE knew. I told my primary physician that I had about 1 month before going into a wheel chair and that they needed to do something quick. They could not figure out what I had so my wife kept looking on the internet and found Dr. Gorson. After one visit with him he scheduled a nurse to come to my house and give me 3 hour long injection every 3 weeks for 6 months. After 1 year of being diagnosed with CIDP i was 100% back to normal. If it wasn't for him and my wife I'm not sure where I'd be. Give Dr. Gorson a chance, he will not disappoint you.

I am suffering from some serious issues including lack of feeling in may legs and arms. I was referred to Dr. Gorson by the CIDP Foundation. However his staff told me I could not set up an appointment unless I sent my medical records first. The assistant was pretty rude over the phone. Nevertheless I did this; however, when I called back to confirm if they received my records, I couldn't get through to anything but a voicemail. I left a message to see if they rep'd my records, but have never heard back.

I have just gotten off the phone while attempting to make an appointment through one of Dr. Gorson's support people who hung up on me and is the rudest medically related person I have dealt with in my life. Both my husband and I had seen Dr. Gorson many years ago and after years of neither of us being diagnosed by several of the major hospitals in Boston my husband was referred to Dr. Gorson subsequent to being referred to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Two months before my husband's appointment in Mayo his spine orthopedic surgeon asked if my husband would see Dr. Gorson at St. Elizabeth's. My husband saw Dr. Gorson and within 20 minutes Dr. Gorson diagnosed my husband with pre diabetic lumbar sacral redicular neuropathy. I then went to Dr. Gorson and after 12 years of no doctors being able to diagnose me I was diagnosed by Dr. Gorson. We then sent many friends to Dr. Gorson all who had similar experiences. Dr. Gorson is a very good diagnostician. After 5 years of not seeing Dr.… Gorson I had a very bad fall that landed me in a rehab hospital for 3 weeks in Florida and resulted in 3 operations in FL and MGH. Upon returning to Boston I set up an appointment with Dr. Gorson twice and cancelled ( which I take full responsibility for). I was being seen by so many doctors and undergoing so many tests at that point that I made a bad decision and decided to continue seeing all the suggested specialists at MGH before seeing Dr. Gorson. Last week I saw the 7th specialist and she suggested I see a neurologist. I have just gotten off the phone with Dr. Gorson's front desk after leaving several messages that were never returned. I have just spoken to and then was hung up on with the rudest support person I have ever encountered. I was told that Dr. Gorson would not see me because of my cancellations. Although I politely requested that I speak to Dr. Gorson so that I could explain the circumstances she robotically repeated herself that I no longer could be a patient of Dr. Gorson's and then hung up on me. I understand that medicine today is a difficult business but to steadfastly not even listen to my situation is totally unprofessional. I am sure that I could have made some payment to make up for the cancelled appointments. I wasn't given that chance. Medicine is not just about the knowledge the doctor has to relate to a patient but the manner it which it is delivered. If I had someone like the young women in Dr. Gorson's office representing him as the first line of contact I would counsel her on appropriate telephone behavior or get rid of her.

I have been seeing Dr. Gorson for a few years for a neurological issue and he has been a miracle worker for me. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Gorson was refreshingly different from the other 4 neurologists I have seen. They have all been good, and in fact, sent me to him for a second opinion. He is definitely a black and white physician, leaving no room for grey area. He tells it like it is, with no sugar coating. I liked him a lot, and I only hope his diagnosis is spot on! First visit so time will tell. Overall, great experience! lik

Dr. Gorson took extra time and care to review my complex medical history in detail with me to get a full picture of what might be causing my symptoms. He is highly skilled and intuitive, his office staff is wonderful and responsive. His evaluation report was very thorough. I can't tell you how refreshing it was to finally see doctors (I also see Dr. Schneller in rheumatology) who take their time in examination and are so thorough and communicate well. St. Elizabeth's is my now my only go-to place for specialists - an example of how our health care system should be operating.

He diagnosed me with fibromyalgia, filled me up with narcotics and muscle relaxers, gave me botox injections every three months for two years which caused my scalpula bones to drop. I had to do physical therapy for over a year to rebuild the muscles in my back and shoulders! AND when I complained that the narcotics were affecting my ability to work he said I was having anxiety and wanted to increase the klonopin which makes me feel disoriented at work!!! It took months for my primary care physician to help me off all the crap he had me on. I love St. Elizabeth Hospital but I wouldn't recommend this doctor.

Dr Gorson was able to help treat my condition after years of me wasting my time with other neurologists that couldn't properly diagnose and treat me. He spends time listening and explaining in terms that you can understand. I couldn't ask for a better doctor.

Doctor Gorson is a neurologist at ST Elizabeth's hospital in Boston Ma. DO NOT go see him as a patient. I did and he just embarrassed himself for about 4 visits. He is the most arrogant and self absorbed doctor I have ever meet. he new nothing about CPM and said he did, he is the worst out of 9 different doctors I went to see about my problem. please I beg you stay away from him, he will do more harm then good. He is a joke.

My experience with Dr. Gorson has been nothing but positive.I don't have to see him often, but what I like is that he has read my chart (before I get in the room) and knows why I'm there. We talk about my condition during the procedure and again afterwards when he goes to his desk and returns to my file -very professional yet easy to talk with. My only problem was that I was sent a bill for the visit which had been pd.by check which they can't find, but I found the cased copy.
