Dr. Kenneth Jong Ham, MD

My wife, who is 81 years old, tripped and fell while going to the bathroom at 3:00 a.m. She was taken to St. Mary Medical Center for emergency care and was treated by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Ken Ham. She had shattered the bone where it fits into the socket, and understandably she was very upset and frightened. Dr. Ham was calm, reassuring, and compassionate. He gave my wife the confidence she needed to move forward with treatment and assured her that he could repair the injury. His professionalism, skill, and bedside manner made a difficult situation much easier for both of us. We are very grateful for the excellent care he provided.

Had cut my finger and the tendon , he also fixed a trigger finger on same hand , he suggested I do it awake because of all the benefits . I was so scared but agreed with him. He was so smiley and nice throughout the surgery !! A very special nurse let me focus on her while they did the painful numbing shots ( omg ??) I wasn’t aware of a turnic that was going to be put on my arm , I kept telling the nurse quietly how bad it hurt , Dr Ham must have heard and told her to take that off !! He applied a small one on my finger !! Thank you for hearing how much pain that thing was causing because after he had her take it off it was smooth sailing !!

The staff is so professional and courteous.

Dr. Ham is clinically competent and personally enjoyable. He fixes hands well. Heather his administrator, is wonderfully kind and very facilitative. All of his Physician Assistants do an excellent job of taking histories and giving joint injections. So glad that I called them for care.

The highland office needs to have afternoon /late afternoon hours. I live 5 minutes from the office and I’m not going to drive to merrillville because you only have morning appointments in highland. I work and I can’t take off for an appointment
