Dr Kenneth Mathis is my HERO!! Absolutely, first class surgeon and literally could NOT have been better. His staff are very professional, kind, supportive, and compassionate (Thanks Tammy). My total right knee replacement was a great success and a quick, full recovery. Most of all, I Trusted Dr. Mathis!! Again, Dr. Mathis is my HERO!!!

Same bad review as others. Arrogant and rude. I would not care about his manners if the surgery was successful...Then after Sulzer recall Mathis would not even talk to me about possibilities. The surgery was 1998 and still having surgeries to correct everything that went wrong in 2022.

Had surgery by this arrogant rude person nearly 3 years ago I am still in pain now my knee is swollen after three years and I’m in constant pain much worse than before surgery and I went to physical therapy for months and I exercise with No relief I hope he will suffer the way I’m suffering . Never had time to listen or answer questions and always interrupted I don’t know how he is allowed to practice

2yrs ago knee replacement no improvement

My results are no better than before my knee replacement 2 yrs ago, Do your research...... He is unavailable after surgery!!! I feel like on a assembly line in and out!

there are many options for knee replacements in Houston. Where to start and choose and what did i find important? I was encouraged to first research the complication rate for any surgeons under consideration. Dr Mathis had the lowest complication rate of any surgeon I considered or interviewed. the Memorial Hermann program and orthopedic specialty hospital are ranked in top 100 nationally among joint replacement centers. An unexpected bonus was the free parking for all visits, surgery visits, follow up visits. Free! Access was very simple, parking was simple and easy. Follow up by all staff was timely and professional. my right knee recovery is going well and one week into my left knee recovery i am ahead of right schedule. I heard patients often found Dr. Mathis to fix a previous poor outcome. I like supporting UT Medical Team and their relationship to Memorial Hermann. It is working well at the MHS Orthopedic Hospital.

My experience with Dr. Mathis, his entire staff and MHOS hospital could not have been better. The results of my hip replacement 3 weeks ago far exceeded my expectations. I recommend him without reservation.

I assume he is a good surgeon, but do not expect much one-on-one time. He lets the residents and nurses do all of the question and answer sessions. Staff is TERRIBLE about responding. You get a lot of promises, but rarely do you get a phone call returned.

Working with Dr.Mathis was a horrible experience . I literally waited 3 hours after my scheduled appointment time the wait could have been worth it if I felt like I was getting the appropriate care. I was in such a excruciating pain, after being waiting for 3 hours he came to exam room he rushed me, he did not hear me out without interrupting me and did not listen, he has a poor communication and poor listening skills. The only thing he told me I need to have a surgery he did not go over my X-Ray or explain about my condition, he was unwilling to go over the surgery or recovery and what to expect after surgery, he told me he dose not have time he was my doctor and was going to do the surgery if he dose not have time for his patient then why he is practicing ?? Dr. Kenneth Mathis dose not want to answer patient question's he wants patient's to blindly trust him without earning their trust . I feel that I was not being heard and he walked of the room while I was talking with him. He… dose not have any manners, he is not concern about his patients , I was mistreated by Dr. Kenneth Mathis. AVOID THIS DOCTOR !!!!
