Dr. Kenneth Edward Nunnery, MD

I was a patient of FMFP since 1963 on and off and other than Dr Culp, Dr Nunnery was the best Doctor I've ever seen. He truly cared about his patients and LISTENED. I have spent the past 3 years looking, in vain, for another Dr somewhere in this area who will actually listen to me. Just spent 3 hours waiting on a provider at North Central (yes, I had an appt) and was rushed out, without any resolution of my pain. All they want to do is refer me, again. This is chronic herniated disc pain and I have tried everything and cannot even get one to send me for a newer MRI I cannot stand, walk, bathe, cook, or even get out of the bed sometimes. I am not a drug addict, faking or a hypochondriac. I understand that there is an epidemic of Opiod abuse but I took Norco for 12 years without ever asking for an early refill. I wasnt selling them or taking too many- I took them when i needed them only. Dr Nunnery understood this/had seen my MRI and didnt want me to be in pain. WHERE are… the Doctors that actually care about their patients?? I am not depressed or suicidal but I certainly can understand why the suicide rate is through the roof.... we hurt. We need help. Sometimes injections dont work, OTC meds upset the acid reflux and muscle relaxers make us sleepy, Someone please tell me what i have to do, or where i need to go to get help. ANYONE?

He truly cares about his patients. He's an excellent Doctor! He keeps up with your records,and knows whats going on with you! He never rushes you out of his office,like many other doctors. You'll be lucky,to have him as your doctor!

When I moved back in the area from Charleston, I returned to Dr. Nunnery who is among the most insightful, intelligent doctors I've ever had. I love his bedside manner. I feel calm in his presence, because I trust him, and he has earned it. (He also has a remarkable staff -- friendly and professional.)
