Awesome doctor!

I went to Dr oglesby as a last resort. Four surgeon's turned me down because of my age (79). They all admitted that I did indeed need the surgery but they wouldn't do it. Doctor oglesby took one look, examined my food thoroughly and committed to doing the surgery. I'm six weeks into it and absolutely couldn't be happier. He's not a big talker but I'll phone my best friend if I want to talk. He gave me a new hope at life knowing I wouldn't be in a walker or wheelchair in the time I have left. His staff is sweet and considerate. I give him five stars!

After having surgery for a bunion and hammer toe I was given poor post OP care had surgery on a Thursday started bleeding on Sunday called their office on Monday morning to have them look at it we were told without looking at it that that was normal so we will see you on Friday noticed on Monday night that the big toe was turning blue called again the response was most likely just bruising we will see you Friday their lack of care now has resulted in another surgery to remove my big toe. With a different doctor I might add.the lack of care dr oglesby has cost me and my family thousands of dollars .and we will be looking into recovering some of not all of it

Probably one of my worst experience within IU Health system. We waited for half an hour in the waiting room before we are taken inside a room by the nurse. She was not very kind and did not provide much help. Then Dr Oglesby came in and basically told us that my daughter does not need customized inserts and the over the counter ones will do just fine. I know she has low arches because she was diagnosed by another professional before and we just wanted to get new inserts since she grew out of the first ones. Now this doctor is telling me that no they are not necessary. When he realized I was not very convinced, he chuckled and said his daughter wears over the counter ones and they work for her. He then in a cheesy way said, 'If it is good for my daughter, it then should be good for everybody, right?' How can he expect me to believe that his daughter's problem is the same one my daughter has? What kind of logic is this? Then, when I pressed that I do want the customized inserts like… before, he spilled the beans and it turns out that the insurance may not approve of them and we had to pay. He refused to take the impression of the feet then and there and said first they have to get written approval from the insurance, which will take a couple of weeks. They want to make sure they can get their money before they take care of your need. All in all, wait time, treatment by both the nurse and the doctor, they all sounded and felt very unprofessional. We will not go back to him for any reason in the future. I thought people need to know about this before they make an appointment with this office. Hope this helps.

The doctor kept telling me the recovery of my foot would take time. Up to a year. A year and 6 months later my big toe still does not touch the ground nor lie flat and remains more turned in than prior to bunion repair. Bunion repair was basically successful, however ball of foot has never returned to normal size prior to surgery. Hammer toes repair was good on two out of three. There was no point in going back because he already had the answer. Besides, if he didn’t get it right the first time I’m not letting him try again. Very disappointed.
