Dr. Kevin Matthew Casey, MD

EXTREMELY disappointing experience! If I could put zero stars I would. My families experiences with him have been nothing but heart breaking. He has been incredibly dismissive, rude, and shows a complete lack of empathy and disregard for them. He didn’t even take the time to sit down and talk to my family members. Instead he held the door open while he stood halfway in the hall and halfway in the room and asked “so why are you here?” Wouldn’t listen to any of their concerns or took time to explain things. He brushed off their questions and made them feel like they were wasting their time yet again by seeing him. They waited months for an appointment with him just to be completely let down. Nothing was solved. It is shocking how little compassion was shown for someone seeking help and in so much pain. He has made getting help and seeing him such an uncomfortable space. We did not feel worthy of being in his presence at all. My family members left their appointment feeling unheard and… disrespected. I would recommend if you want a caring doctor please do not waste your time (and apparently his) seeing him. From the looks of these reviews this seems like a recurring issue. If you’re looking for a doctor who actually listens, cares, and treats you with basic kindness, I strongly advise going elsewhere.

If he is a good surgeon, great. He should stay in the surgery room, don't let him out with his patient. Terrible communicator, he refused to write a note for my father in law to get a handicap placards. My 74 year old father in law has arthritis and broke his hip in a traffic accident which resulted with 3 fasteners placed into his hip, and because of it his is difficulties in walk and keeping his balance, and this is Dr. Casey exact words, "... The handicap placards is for people who have missing limps, not for people like your father in law. I know it is a convenient to have the handicap placards and it is not for your father in law." Seriously, person must have missing limbs in order to get a handicap placards. Where did Kaiser find this guy? Does he even know how to read ? He should check the Federal ADA guideline before he speaks. Please Kaiser, keep him in the surgery room and don't let him out ! I have been with Kaiser for more than 30 years and this doctor is the… worst one that I have ever seen.

The worst Dr ever doesn’t give a damn about his patients nor does his staff. Don’t use!!

Dr.Casey is exactly like the bad comments made about him. If I would have seen those comments I never would have used him. He is the most uncaring arrogant doctor. Not to mention a liar, when I had my appointment my wife asked him for a refill on my pain meds and he said ok. When she went to pick them up they had to call him and he told the pharmacy that we had a discussion regarding the pain meds that they were narcotic and I should not use them anymore, well that was a lie cause we had no such discussion! We could not believe he lied. A doctor you are suppose to trust. Not to mention when my wife told him about all my pain and the fact that I could not even sleep at night, he totally disregarded what she said. So, if you want a doctor that's caring and understanding, he's not the one!

Mr. Casey is a skilled surgical technician, that might as well be a television repairman. He knows what to do in surgery, however, like the lower paid repairman, he considers all patients to be the same. When you first attend his orientation class, he will give his laundry list of generalizations. When you are one on one with him, any of the flaws you might have, he will tell you and you will hear the entire list of flaws again. He does not understand human behavior. Extremely arrogant, his surgical competence is simply not worth putting up with his personality. Luckily, for him, he works for Kaiser and is free to be abusive and condescending without fear. His other career option with similar freedom would be working for the post office. In the early nineties there were so many qualified candidates for medical school and sadly, this attitude copped one of the coveted spots instead of a less self absorbed and more caring person.

Arrogant and dictatorial. He only cares if his surgery is not a failure and if you don't say a word which he does not approve (or he'd defend right the way as you were going to file a complaint against him). His staffs are also highly incompetent (changing the post-op appointment at the last minute on your answering machine; not passing to him the forms he is supposed to sign). If you have faith in hip replacement in US, get someone else.

After over 10 years of hip pain and missed work and way to much Motrin Dr Casey replaced my hip 7 years ago. In 3 months I was back to work pain free, hiking, and still going strong. Thanks

I had total hip replacement on 12/9/15. Dr Casey did a great job. Came home next day after surgery. Only used walker for a few days, then a cane for about three weeks. After 3 months back riding my motorcycle. Now I am pain free. The staff was great also. The rehab was 2 times a week for 6 weeks and got me back to normal.

Dr Casey did my knee replacement 6 years ago with very good results now I've been told I need a hip replacement so I moved back to Riverside so hopefully I can have him do it his bedside manner is short and to the point but he knows his stuff and that's what counts.

Dr Casey is such a wonderful and caring Doctor. i spent 3 years in extreme pain and when I was finally referred to him he quickly diagnosed my problem and let me know a hip replacement was necessary. He spent 2 hours with several of us (patients undergoing hip and knee replacement) in a class type setting and fully explained the procedure in detail and answered all of our questions. I felt so much more comfortable and was fully prepared for the surgery. The surgery went great and the staff in the hospital were very polite and caring. Dr Casey saw me each day in the hospital and made sure I was doing ok. My post op visits were arranged prior to me going home and the entire team from home health nurses, physical therapists, to the orthopedic staff were great. I can't thank Dr Casey and his staff enough for all their professional caring and kindness. I am so relieved to be walking and doing activities that previously I was unable to do because of the hip arthritis. Highest recommendation… to Dr Casey and the entire staff.
