Dr. Kevin P Hanlon, DO

Dr. Hanlon has been my surgeon for over 20 years, I have never met a Dr in this field that personally cares for their patients as well as him. He since has retired but still sees his patients for consultation and continues to come into the office to do so. He will tell you the truth the first time weather you like it or not. His advice is sound. I finally had to have my knee replaced 4 years ago and I have no regrets.. His staff has been with him for many years and they are courteous & professional. The surgeons he works with are equally qualified and have followed his lead.

My wife went to see him for some surgery of her knee. We chose him based on proximity and experience. From the beginning, he was abrupt and irritating - almost as if he had a chip on his shoulder. It was an unpleasant experience. But it got worse on surgery day. First, he was late. Second, he publically berated a nurse who was clearly doing her job. Finally, when the surgery was over, he came out to talk to me. The first words from me were 'How did it go?' His first words to me were 'If you can keep quiet for the next 5 minutes I'll tell you'. In the end, the surgery failed. I'm not sure if it was his incompetence or if he made an error to which he would not admit or if my wife's body simply needed an entire replacement of the knee. I normally would take a doctor at his word but not this guy. Too much ego and too much of the blame game. We returned for the follow up and he was given enough of the stink eye from me that he changed his tune. He was actually courteous. He left the room to… take a call and we could clearly hear that he had some issues with law enforcement. We could not hear what they were but when he returned he tried to probe for what he heard. This guy is bad news

Has done surgery on my Parents and when I need a rotory cuff surgery I went to him and once again he did a wonderful job!

I have know Kevin since he was a resident at MCGH, however the since 2010 I refuse to return to see him. His office staff is very rude, and have heard him tell patients that they were overweight(both of us over 50 we are far from thin) Also hearing him talk to his partner about replacing staff members due to superficial issues made me hesitate to send any family or friends over there. I contacted the office and was told they were scheduling so far in advance I went to the other orthopedics through the hospital. Very unprofessional all the way around, and disappointing.

Literally speaking - my husband was involved in a very serious car accident and Dr. Hanlon treated him in trama. Year later when I needed knee surgery, I made an appointment with him. He is very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, caring and I have never waited very long to see him (well once - he was called to emergency - and his staff did try to call me). I recommend him highly.
