After years of doctors saying I had to wait until I get cataracts to get a surgery to be able to see, this doctor put premium lenses in both eyes and I have better than 20/20 vision. I have had bad vision since my childhood. It was greatly effecting my job. Now I dont even need glasses.

I question the integrity of Dr. Hinshaw. I believe that he ran a series of test that were unnecessary just to increase his bill to our HMO.

Dr. Hinshaw is extremely knowledgeable about eye disorders and the impact other body illnesses have on your eyes. He spends a lot of time asking about your past medical & lifestyle history to make sure he is getting to the root of your eye disorder. He is worth the wait!

Great doctor! He will spend as much time with you as he needs to help you. This can make for a long wait since he spends so much time to help and understand each patient. The wait is worth it! I was aggressively losing my eye sight due to IIH (a neurological disease) and he saved it! Dr. Hinshaw has been helping patients, adults and children, for several years with IIH from all over the world.

I wasted an entire afternoon in this office. It's totally disorganized and trashy. No one apologizes for the long delays and the doctor answers his cell phone when he finally appears. He spends far too much time asking about my OBGYN history and next to none on my eyes. He mumbles, has poor hygiene, dresses like he's homeless, and offers no eye contact. My advice, go elsewhere.

This was is the worst eye doctor EVER! I spent over an hour in the exam room just waiting to be seen. Not once did anyone tell me what the delay was about. When he FINALLY walked in, his cell phone became a constant distraction. He has ZERO eye contact and poor hygiene which I found quite offensive. He claimed I needed cataract surgery and after seeing a REAL doctor, I was told I was fine! RUN!

My sister has been a patient of Dr. Hinshaw for several years and over time has referred several of our family members to him for various eye maladies. He stays informed of current research and treatments; as a result he was able to diagnose and successfully treat family members eye conditions that other opthalmologists missed. Because of this most of our extended family have switched from our former eye doctors to Dr. Hinshaw for continuing care. Before he hired new office staff (about a year ago) there were some scheduling/wait time problems but they've since been resolved, thankfully. Occasionally the wait takes longer than expected but I don't mind waiting a few minutes longer for the level of care we receive, especially considering the reason for the wait is that he fits in emergency cases and takes the time needed to properly diagnose eye issues. My Mom has been one of his "emergency" cases and I'm grateful he was willing to work her in- therefore I have no problem with… having to wait on the rare occasion. Dr. Hinshaw is an excellent opthalmologist whom I highly recommend.

Dr. Hinshaw was thorough, prompt, and detail oriented. The glasses prescription is the best I have ever had. He took the time to find out my needs, and made adjustments in my prescription to make computer use MUCH easier. A very refreshing experience!!

I have had migraines for many years. It was to the point I could not function on a daily bases. A friend recommended Dr. Hinshaw to have my eyes check. I have seen more doctors and specialist than I could list in the space provided they all basically ended up giving me medication to treat systems. Dr. Hinshaw took the time to find the problem and after almost twenty years of constant migraines I finally feel free from the pain. He was willing to look for an answer when no one else was... He was worth waiting in the room for a few extra minutes... taking a sleep apnea test (which I do not have)... the long drive and even a few rescheduling appointments. What is your health worth???
