Dr. Kevin Lee Ju, MD

Dr. Ju has been a God send for not only me, but for ALL of his patients. I had suffered with terrible pain in my legs for two years. I had been to several different doctors, done many tests, received steroid injections for the 'inflammation' and nerve pain blockers which did absolutely nothing, and even did physical therapy to no avail. The pain had reduced my quality of life tremendously as I had stopped traveling and going out with family or friends. I was limited to suffering through a work day and then going home to lay down due to the pain being so terrible (9-10 range). My employer and friend referred me to Dr. Ju. She had had a positive experience and was sure I could get help too. My first visit was to meet and review my history. Dr Ju only needed a couple more tests to ensure he would be able to perform surgery and reduce the pain I was experiencing. We scheduled the surgery for January 16th. The surgery went well and I was in my room for the night. I felt… immediate relief. The next afternoon I was dismissed from the hospital -- right about the 24 hour mark from when my surgery finished. The recovery was not terrible, I had to be reminded about restricted movements because I felt SO MUCH BETTER. I have re-started physical therapy with Dr. Ju's specific protocol of treatment and am doing very well. I HAVE MY LIFE BACK ALL BECAUSE OF DR. JU.

Fantastic Spine Surgeon! Dr. Ju really listened to my concerns regarding spine surgery for moving vertebra and disintegrated disks resulting from a car accident. The first surgeon I consulted said the surgery was too risky but Dr. Ju was willing to try to repair my spine. This year, he performed two spine operations on my neck and lower back. I was so concerned about spine surgery complications but there were none and I am in much less pain and have greater mobility. He is very thorough, kind and experienced. I definitely recommend Dr. Ju for complicated spine surgery. Thanks!

Dr. Kevin Ju has changed my life. I came in to his office with severe left leg pain/ herniated disk that was persistent for over 6 months. I could not stand, lay, walk, sit or sleep for any amount of time. After trying multiple treatments like injections, acupuncture, physical therapy, exercises, massages, chiropractors, pain medication, muscle relaxers, the list goes on. As my last resort I decided to go see Texas Back Institute, I was a little hesitant since everything else had failed. I had made up my mind to say “No” if they mentioned surgery because all I have ever heard was that “back surgeries are the worst”, “you end up with more pain”, “it won’t fix anything”, and “you will always have to have surgery”. As the day of my appointment came, I was very pleased with the staff as they were all extremely nice. I explained my problem to Dr. Ju and what impressed me the most is that he truly seemed to care about my problem. He listened to everything I said, answered my questions, did… a thorough examination. After discussing my problem, he decided that the best course of action would be surgery since I had tried everything by that point. I asked multiple questions about the procedure and he answered everything with great detail. He made me feel confident that he knew what he was talking/doing about. At no point in our conversation did I feel rushed or that he was just pushing surgery. It truly felt like he really wanted to help me. I decided to schedule surgery. Day of surgery was a day to remember, the staff at the hospital were all amazing. I was really nervous while waiting to be taken to the OR. Dr. Ju came to talk to me before surgery and ease my nerves. He reassured me that everything would be fine. After I woke up from surgery I no longer had the pain that had haunted me for months. I was a little drowsy from anesthesia but I could already feel the difference. I was able to go home after a few hours. I was sore for a couple days after surgery but it was mainly because of the incision. No longer the leg pain. I was off pain meds, muscle relaxers, and nerve medication within two days. I was finally walking normal. I felt normal again. I cannot thank Dr. Kevin Ju enough for changing my life. Giving me my life back. If I would have known the outcome of my surgery, I would have done this surgery months ago. I will forever be grateful for what he has done for me, for my family. I can once again play with my kids without pain. For anyone that is dealing with back problems and have tried everything, don’t be afraid or listen to the misconceptions that “back surgery is the worst”. Please go see Dr. Kevin Ju, he truly cares. Our trusted family doctor recommended Dr. Ju since my neck problem could only be solved with surgery. Dr Ju is as competent, professional, and caring as I could possibly ask for. He performed an ACFS to my C5-6-7 about 2 1/2 weeks ago, and I can't imagine a way that it could have gone better. My year and a half of pain was entirely gone by the time I woke up in recovery, and I have had zero pain from the surgery itself. ZERO. I didn't think that was even possible. My recovery is going extremely well. My experience with Dr. Ju and his staff, and with Presbyterian Hospital in Rockwall was fantastic in every way. I can't recommend him highly enough. He has my full and complete confidence.

When I first met Dr. Ju, I had already had 3 spine surgeries in 10 years—1 neck and 2 lower back (after being rear-ended by a texting SUV driver). Over a year ago I began experiencing excruciating pain in my legs/hips. Dr. Ju performed a 6-hr. 2-part surgery for stenosis, scoliosis and removing/replacing and adding hardware. It has been 8 weeks since the surgery and this 83-year old patient highly recommends Dr. Ju as an outstanding doctor with great bedside manner and the best surgeon I have ever dealt with. He and his great staff are all professional, knowledgeable, caring and extremely responsive. Thank you, Dr. Ju. I have my life back.

After several years of back, hip, and leg pain my chiropractor recommended that I see Dr. Ju at the Texas Back Institute. After an MRI and C-Scan Dr. Ju explained exactly what was causing my pain and how it could be fixed. This was going to be major, with multiple places of stenosis removed inside my spinal column and rods and screws to stabilize my lower back. This would require a significant opening in my lower back. He was very patient in answering all of my many question and showing me how it would be done. We set the surgery date and for 4 months I worked out to strengthen my body for a quick and successful recovery. When I awoke from surgery I was free of all pain that I was having before. I was able to get up and walk without hip and leg pain. I am now only three week post surgery and the only discomfort I have is the normal healing of the incision and hardware in my back. I highly recommend Dr. Kevin L. Ju to anyone that is suffering with back or spin issues. SDL
