Dr. Kevin S Kennedy, DO

Always in a rush and doesn’t give you enough attention or care that his patients needed. Doctor Kennedy doesn’t even look at your lab reports unless you asked him to. He will only spent about 5 minutes max and in and out really quick. You really have to ask him to slow down and listen to your issues and concerns or else he doesn’t care.

I was not looking forward to this appointment. Some of the reviews on Dr Kennedy were not positive. But, I found Dr. Kennedy to be kind, thorough, attentive and informative. The wait time was reasonable. The staff, friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend this practice. The Audiologist, Dr. Michelle Batson, was a delight. She explained everything well and tought me some things about which I was completely ignorant.

And this office came through for me! Thanks to Dr. Kennedy and his wonderful staff. He’d better keep them. I came in (the day I called)because of unbearable ear pain and middle ear infection. That means I get meds right away and begin to feel better immediately. Dr. Kennedy seemed thorough, although efficient in suggesting I receive a necessary hearing test with the audiologist. Two weeks later, although the hearing infection had resolved, my middle ear fluid did not drain. Their office was quick to schedule another appointment for me and subsequent PE tubes to placed to prevent further hearing problems. I am very pleased with all of my care so far. Yes, Dr Kennedy ‘s bedside manner seems that of most surgeons, but I prefer a competent surgeon over one with perfect bedside manner. I will continue routine care with Dr Kennedy.

I saw Dr. Kennedy after a referral, He was courteous and interested in finding out the issue with me, The staff was very professional and courteous as well,

unnecessary surgery prescribed without due diligence.

In the two years I was under his care I brushed his abrasiveness aside because seeing him once every so often wasn't a big deal, until I was diagnosed with tinnitus in the spring. From there the 8.5 minutes he spends with each patient apparently was too much for him to handle. At a final appointment prior to moving overseas I made sure I had the first apt slot for the morning. After drilling me as to why my endocrinologist had taken me off my thyroid meds and how much I was paying in copays for the prescription medications I needed a refill on, he walked to the door as I was mid sentence and said lets finish at the desk. I was literally in the middle of asking him one more question. He stood in the hallway, pointed to the desk and looked and me and shouted "NEXT", like I was in line for a fast food burger. NEVER have I been treated like this by a "professional" I suggested that per my hippa laws I would rather not discuss my healthcare in the main lobby and that I had one more… question for him. He abruptly brushed past me and said "fine lets get this over with" and went back into the room but not before telling me "he sticks to a strict schedule and has other patients" (now mind you, my apt was 7:45 I didn't get seen to almost 7:55 and it was now only 8:05am) I reminded him my insurance paid him for my time in that room and in that time it was my right to discuss my health concerns and questions strictly in that room. I then informed him he'll be receiving a grievance complaint filed with my insurance over his behaviors. Rude, Unprofessional, Abrupt...and that was just todays appt. I won't go into the details of what he said to me when I was diagnosed with tinnitus and I quote "learn to suck it up and don't waste your money on over the counter medicines..." My advice is unless you want to suck it up dealing with him, don't waste your money, copays or insurance on this doctor. He may have a degree, but his is not a professional. His very courteous and surprised staff is the only good thing going for him and Bless their hearts, I don't know how they deal with him.

I was seen within the first day by Dr Kennedy. He seemed caring and matter of fact. I had a CT Scan and the results were the worst case scenario. I read the reviews about him and was very apprehensive. Frankly, the negative reviews are wrong. He is very skilled, educated and qualified. He may not be the friendliest as he tells it like it is - blunt and no sugar coating. I want this from a doctor, the truth, and he delivers it. I'd rather he be a great surgeon ( like he is ) rather than someone who makes you feel good about yourself. The man did an amazing job for me and potentially saved my life or at the least saved me from menengitis. My only fears were from what some others had written about him on these reviews. I for one have 100% confidence in him and will continue to see him and follow his instructions. I also found his staff to be pleasant. Thank you Dr Kennedy!

I have had four surgeries in the cartilage on the exterior of both of my ears to remove benign tumors (they are chronic) and he did very well in removing them and making my ears look pretty much normal each time. He also performed a major sinus/nasal passage surgery and did a very good job. Yes, the recovery from the surgery was the worst I ever experienced (and I have had many surgeries), but he warned me upfront and everyone I spoke with who had had this type of surgery (with different doctors) had the same experience. Not being able to breathe normally, having splints shoved up both nostrils that seemed to go to the brain, having a headache for two full weeks that approximated the worst sinus infection headache I had ever had, and having to sleep upright in a recliner rather than in my own bed all added up to two weeks of (you know what)! But unfortunately that was par for the course and not the fault of the doctor. It was just the nature of the beast. As far as Doctor… Kennedy's bedside manner, yes, he can seem a little gruff, however, I believe that comes from his directness. He doesn't take a lot of time coddling the patient, but rather informs the patient of their current condition, what they can expect in the future, including worst case scenario, and then presents options. I much prefer that to lots of talk with little information or no talk at all. He also has a dry sense of humor that can come across as insensitivity if you are not used to that kind of humor. And he actually is a very friendly man who will chat with you about all types of non-medical topics if you engage him that way. I assume that those patients with the greatest complaints have not even really tried to talk with him, but rather have shied away from him because of his directness. I was initially recommended to Dr. Kennedy by a doctor I trust very much and was warned upfront that he could come across as gruff at times, but to not let that bother me. The bottom line is that Dr. Kennedy is a very good doctor who really knows his stuff. He has a slightly different personality than a lot of doctors, but he gives you a tremendous amount of information in a direct fashion and he wants to engage you if you will just give him the chance. I speak from over ten years of experience with him including five surgeries and followup appointments at least once a year.

I was referred to this man for a second opinion for Menieres Disease. He has a very abrasive beside manner. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone!

I went in with an ear infection, which required surgery to place a tube in my ear. As others have said, Dr. Kennedy will give you the worst case scenerio, which can be a little frightening. But, in spite of his lack of bedside manner, he mellows just a bit the more often you see him, andas far as I am concerned, he knows what he is doing, which in the end is all I really need. I see him at least twice a year, at least until the tube is out, and he took care of the problem I went in with, so that makes me happy.
