Dr. Kevin Michael Sherlock, MD

Though this was years back, it has always bothered me the way I was treated by Dr. Sherlock. I went to the Columbus ER with terrible pain in my chest, back, upper abdomen, along with nausea and vomiting. It was Thanksgiving night and we were in Nashville, IN for the holiday. After having blood drawn and waiting for the results, Dr. Sherlock came in to evaluate my condition. He seemed to be unconcerned and bothered by my presence. I inquired about my lab results and he said he didn’t run them. I asked why, and he informed me he didn’t think it was necessary. The nurse later came in and showed the same lack of care and concern as the doctor. She asked me, “What’s your drug of choice?”. I didn’t know what she meant, though years later I found out. Sadly, if they would have run my labs they would have seen I was having a severe gallbladder attack. After having these same symptoms, it was later confirmed (by another doctor) that my gallbladder was full of stones and needed to be removed. If… Dr. Sherlock would have taken the time to treat me with respect, care and concern he could have saved me from weeks of pain and discomfort. As the years went on, I suffered from chronic pancreatitis, eventually having a total pancreatectomy and islet transfer in addition to having my spleen removed. This was a 13 hour surgery done at the University of Minnesota. It was so unfortunate how I was treated as just another pain med seeking patient.

I have never experienced such incompetence from a doctor ever. Had I listened to this man I would have died within in 12 hours. I have never seen such negligence.
