With over 15 years of neurosurgical experience, Dr. Kevin Vaught has the expertise to treat a variety of complex spine, brain and peripheral nerve conditions. He also coordinates nonsurgical and pain management care with his associates in Cape Girardeau and Perryville.

As a medical student, Dr. Kevin Vaught was fortunate to have a mentor who set an amazing example of how to practice medicine with dedication and genuine compassion. Today, Dr. Kevin Vaught honors this experience by mentoring up-and-coming physicians and surgeons himself.

Dr. Vaught has held several leadership positions at Southeast Missouri Hospital, including Chief of Neurosurgery, Chair of the Continuing Medical Education Committee, and Physician Excellence Committee Member. He also stays active in the community by giving educational presentations to local students, patients and other physicians.

In his spare time, Dr. Vaught enjoys cycling, and he and his wife stay busy supporting the activities of their …three sons.

I had so much pain and was close to not being stable enough to walk anymore. Dr. Vaught said he could help me with fusing the joint. I spent the night in hospital needed no pain medicine next morning could not wait to go home. I had restrictions and did what they told me and had no problems at all. Dr. Vaught and his staff are always willing to listen and my treatment was excellent. Thank you!

Says he is here to serve you, but is rude and makes you feel stupid for asking questions. Heaven forbid you ask for clarification. I would not recommend this doctor if you want to have a doctor that takes his practice and ethical oath seriously. Doctors are here to provide information and it’s seems that Kevin Vaughn lacks that fundamental skill!

After suffering with lower back pain, I was referred to Dr Vaught. He performed surgery and I was pleasantly surprised with quick relief from pain! I found him to be cooperative and interested in my concerns. Would highly recommend!

Dr. Vaught and his staff are great. They always took the time to explain things to me and answer any questions I had. I was always treated with courtesy and respect. I feel like I received great care.

Dr Vaught is a wonderful surgeon he did 4 back surgeries on me and I am not having any pain now. He does needs to work on his bedside manners.

Dr. Vaught and his entire staff were first class. My back surgery went well and I was well taken care of throughout the entire process.

Dr. Vaught is an outstanding doctor. I would highly recommend him to everyone. He is very concerned about his patients. Most of all he is a good christian man.
