Dr. Khaled Samir Hafez, MD

Having kidney cancer is a frightening condition. Dr. Hafez has a great bedside manor and more importantly he is an incredibly skilled surgeon.

3 months of chemotherapy, 1 month of surgery and weekly follow up. For my neobladder. Then twice a year of needles cold tables and cups. After 6 it became once a year. Fall of 2018 he told me I couldn't see him any more(CANCER FREE) Through all this my wife and I would drive 4 hours down and back, spend a nite in a hotel each time. Would do it all again if I had to. Some days the wait was a little long, most of the time it was in and out. If I ever need him again, I won't hesitate to drive 10 hours to see him.( We live in N.C. Now )

I've been a patient of Dr. Hafez for 3 years. He is compassionate, explains everything clearly, and really cares about me. Everyone in the office and hospital think very highly of him. The nurses and techs in urology/oncology all love him. He has performed several cystoscopies on me to try and get all the cancer. He called my home several times to see how I was doing. Since the cancer wasn't affected by chemo, it was determined my last kidney had to go. An associate of his performed the robotic surgery. While in the Recovery Room, things went downhill. The associate called Dr Hafez, who had left the hospital, and he rushed back. It was determined that I had a collapsed lung and was bleeding internally, and my BP bottomed out. Dr. Hafez rushed me into surgery and finally found the bleed. Something had been nicked during the prior surgery. Dr. Hafez saved my life. When I was brought out of sedation the next day in ICU, his was the first face I saw. The concern on his face was… real. When I had my 40 staples removed at his office, the first thing he did was give me a hug. He's more than 5 stars in my book!

Dr. Hafez is my husband's doctor for Kidney Cancer. He is outstanding and a genuine person. Very understanding towards the patient and the family. He is quick to respond to emails and phone calls. I would recommend Dr. Hafez in a heartbeat to anyone concerned with Kidney Cancer. He is an optimistic and positive Doctor. God bless him and the work he does...Mrs.Sultana

He spent time with me, unlike most doctors. He doubled checked his opinion and had his radiologist read my CT and MRI, which came back exactly like he thought. It was a cyst and not a tumor

I have been seeing Dr. Hafez for over four years. He is a wonderful, caring professional who explains treatments, tests and outcome... making sure you understand possibilities and probabilities of your diagnosis. An excellent surgeon as well!
