My husband had Holep by Dr Casey Dauw out of U of M Chelsea, MI on Friday Feb 6. He was scared but the whole procedure was seamless. Fantastic surgeon along with an incredible stay at Chelsea Hospital made the procedure so incredible. He had minimal bleeding, an overnight stay flushing his bladder, and a great staff. His anesthesiologist was incredible too. He has had no real pain, just some mild burning and got to say goodbye to his foley of six weeks. All good. Do it!

Dr. Dauw has trained extensively with the best doctors in the USA. He has been trained to perform HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate) surgery. He practices with Michigan Medicine and performs HoLEP surgery at the University of Michigan Hospital. He has a very nice bedside manner and really cares about his patients. I was under another Urologists care for years and got nowhere as my symptoms got worse. I knew I needed to have surgery but decided that the old methods of surgery were too barbaric. I found Dr. Dauw after much research and made an appointment to see him at the U of M hospital urology clinic. He saw me 2 weeks after I called. Dr. Dauw is versed on the latest treatment and surgical procedures. He treated me for 3 months to get my health to the optimum which included self catheterization, did tests and MRI to make sure that I did not have prostate cancer and then performed the HoLEP surgery. The tissue that was removed during surgery was again… checked by a pathologist for any cancer cells. My BPH symptoms are gone and I can urinate normally again. Dr. Casey Dauw is one of the best urologists ever. He called me at home a week after surgery to see how I was doing. What doctor does that? He specializes in BHP and kidney stones. An excellent highly trained doctor in the field of Urology.
