Dr. Khamranie Narmala Persaud, MD

When my Primary doctor retired,Dr. Persaud took Over his practice. On my 1st appointment with her, I had to bring in all the bottles of medications I was taking. She went through them and pointed out those that she would not refill. She asked a few questions, and I did tell her it was time for my annual mammogram. She didn't send the order in for several months, and when she did she didn't specify a diagnostic mammogram. The hospital contacted her and specified the type of mammogram I required because of past problems, and she wouldn't change the order. Every time I went to her, she seemed preoccupied, and I felt I was taking her time. She has an outside business of selling products and food to help patients lose weight. She seems to be more interested in that than listening to her patients.

I went to Dr Persaud for my headaches While at my Vacation home in AZ . She could not offer any advice except maybe some over the counter med ,Or work on my relaxation technique or even try Yoga ,

The scale doesn't lie. The lab reports don't lie. Dr. Persaud has been my doctor for five years. I am so pleased to have found her when I moved to LHC. She is a devoted physician that strives to have her patients not depend on medication if possible and do the simple things to stay healthy namely diet and exercise. If you have issues like chronic pain she is happy to refer you to another doctor. I am 69 years old and in the best health of my life. Five years ago I was 235 pounds, had an A1C of 8.0 plus and high blood pressure. I lost 72 in 2017 under Dr. Persaud's care and have kept it off with only an occasional 5 to 7 lbs. gain which I immediately take off thanks to Dr. Persaud's consistent care. My labs are normal and stay normal as long has I follow a healthy diet and exercise program. I feel so bad that people misinterpret Dr. Persaud's manner as anything other than passionate care for her patients to live their healthiest lives ever!

Setup: I am an artist who gets dirty on a regular basis and came in to this appointment after hours of creating, thus looking a bit scruffy and dirty. I was there for a basic annual physical and was greeted with "are you doing methamphetamines?" Thinking "am I being profiled because of the way I appear?" They followed up this bizarre accusation with "we want you to take a voluntary random drug screening". I stated that if they paid for it, no problem. They could not guarantee this, so I declined. This visibly upset the the diminutive, rude practitioner. She then followed up by stating "the FDA makes us issue random screenings" and we had to do it, thus no longer making it random. Then she stated, in a huff, "if you decline the random drug screening, I can lo longer be your doctor". I said, ok, looks like it's time we parted company. Later, when addressing the bizarre FDA statement to her admin, "Mikey" , she attempted to cover by saying something like, she must have been… mistaken, it wasn't the FDA that required us to conduct random drug screenings, it was the AZ Medical Board. After returning home, I contacted both agencies asking them if they required random drug screenings from primary care physicians. Both said they did not and had no idea why such a statement could have been made. I called back to Midwest Internal Medicine with this information and after a time on hold, they returned with this gem: "oh, I'm sorry, it is the DEA that requires us to conduct random drug screenings". Just for fun, I called the DEA and they also stated they do not require this. Conclusion: everyone involved with this LIED to me. After presenting all this to an old friend in the medical field, they informed me what might have been at the root of all this nonsense. Pee test cup manufacturers (who also do the testing of samples) routinely offer incentives to medical offices to buy their pee-cups and send specimens to their facility for testing. After this whirlwind of insults from Persaud, I forwarded all documentation to the AZ Medical Board for review. Unfortunately, after several months, they took absolutely ZERO action, letting this person continue to practice without consequence...

If you don't have an issue she doesn't want to see you. She wants to make a quick buck. Poor bedside manner and prefers to bully her patient's. You are better off seeing someone else. I feel sorry for anyone that steps foot in her office for care because I promise you will not get quality care from her. The front office staff is equally rude towards clients. I hope she goes back to Brooklyn we don't need her in this town.

This Doctor is rude and does not listen or care to understand her patient. Blows off a patient’s concerns. She is a horrible Doctor.

Doesn't listen... Wants things her way. I transferred to this Dr. after being in the same routine for over 25 years.... and my routine and health are good. She wants to change it, wants me off medicine etc. If it isn't broke don't fix it. No understanding of why I am on meds and WHY it should not be changed. I am writing this for my husband who is afraid to make waves. Well I think a Dr. should listen and be understanding. And if she had any knowledge of drugs... it is not something that can just be STOPPED... that is dangerous.

Dr. Persaud does not listen to her patients and is very rude. I have never been treated so poorly as I was by her in her office. She does not want to hear what the patient has to say and will get mad if you say anything. She wants you to stay in her network of doctors and not have a say as to where you would like to go as a patient and the patient;s right. I will not return! Do not waste your time. She also gave bad medical advise that could have harmed me if I did not know any different
